  • Patent number: 9856613
Abstract: The road milling machine according to the invention comprises a cleaning device which has a cleaning unit arranged in front of the work roller in the working direction. The cleaning unit ensures that the surface of the terrain over which the wheels or running gears travel is clear of material. As a result, an optimum milling result is always achieved. The invention takes effect in particular when using small millers which have at least one rear wheel or running gear which can be moved into an inner working position in relation to a longitudinal side of the machine frame and into an outer working position in relation to a longitudinal side of the machine frame. In this preferred embodiment, the cleaning device comprises a pivot device which is designed in such a way that the cleaning unit can be moved into an inner working position in relation to a longitudinal side of the machine frame and into an outer working position in relation to a longitudinal side of the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 7040837
Abstract: A self-propelled road milling machine is equipped with a cooling system comprising a fan for drawing in air, a cooler, and a suction channel. The suction channel has a vent opening facing the cooler and an intake opening. In relation to the longitudinal axis of the road milling machine, the intake opening points to the side of the road milling machine, so that air is drawn in from the side. This results in significantly less dirt being sucked into the machine than when the suction channel is positioned in the direction of travel. In a preferred embodiment, the suction channel is formed in one piece with a liquid tank of the road milling machine. The liquid tank and suction system therefore form a modular unit, which can be easily installed on the chassis of the road milling machine.

  • Patent number: 6997641
Abstract: A road milling machine has a driver's cab equipped with a floor plate and a steering gear mounted on the chassis of the road milling machine. The steering gear includes a console, on which a steering wheel is positioned. One end the console is fastened laterally to the chassis, while the other end of the console is not attached to anything. The console extends over the floor plate, forming an opening between the floor plate and the console on a side. Since this opening is below the console, it is possible for the operator to observe the road surface without having to lean to the side, as is necessary with conventional road milling machines, in which the side of the chassis on which the console is positioned blocks the view.

  • Patent number: 5564775
Abstract: Disclosed is a hinge past system which enables an operator to simultaneously install and position a door at a desired location on the body of a motor vehicle. The hinge past system includes a hinge having a first section and a second section. The second section is rotatably connected to the first section. The second section further includes a key for securing the door to the vehicle and for adjusting the position of the door relative to the vehicle, along the longitudinal axis. The hinge post system further includes hinge post having a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber has an extension for securing the post to the vehicle. The second chamber includes an extension and other means for adjusting the position of the hinge relative to the second chamber along the vertical and lateral axes. The longitudinal, vertical and lateral axes are substantially perpendicular to one another.
