  • Publication number: 20040031798
Abstract: A storage means provides sealed storage for contents. A closure means is fused to a container by application of an electromagnetic field providing a permanent and hermetic seal between the closure and the container. The closure further includes a removable panel to provide access to the contents of the container.

  • Publication number: 20030116879
Abstract: A molded article is produced by a method of compression molding employing a specially shaped billet of thermoplastic material which is positioned at a predetermined location in a predetermined orientation with respect to the mold cavity surfaces of a mold part. In a preferred embodiment, the billet has a generally egg shape and is located adjacent a mold surface defining a small mold cavity region between two larger cavity regions.

  • Patent number: 6513681
Abstract: A spray dispensing closure includes a spray plug and a cap cooperating therewith to selectively occlude passages in the spray plug. In one embodiment, a spray plug includes a set of inner passages for conveying product from a dip tube through the spray plug and a set of outer passages for conveying air from a head space in the container. The inner passages communicate with an inner flow space and the outer passages communicate with an outer flow space. A cap cooperates with the spray plug to define an outer chamber and an inner chamber which are isolated from one another when the cap is in the closed position, thereby preventing the mixing of air and product. As the cap is moved to the open position, the cap chambers are permitted to communicate with one another and, as the container is squeezed, a product/air mixture is formed in the closure. A central spray plug post has an upper portion that forms at least one restrictive passage with an inner wall of the cap when the cap is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 5875907
Abstract: A closure is provided for a container. The closure has a body and a lid. The closure includes a tamper-indicating member connected to the body of the closure by an anchor member received in an anchor member-receiving aperture defined in the closure body. The tamper-indicating member is also connected along a frangible junction to the lid of the closure. A plug member extends from the tamper-indicating member and is receivable in a plug member-receiving aperture defined in the body. When the tamper-indicating member is depressed to force the plug member into the plug member-receiving aperture, the frangible junction is broken, and the tamper-indicating member is retained in its depressed position. This provides an indication that the closure may have been previously opened. Also, an overhanging portion of the lid can be readily engaged by a finger to facilitate opening of the lid relative to the body of the closure.

  • Patent number: 5655687
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispensing container having an inner cavity for storing content to be dispensed, such as bath and beauty products. Content is dispensed when the container is squeezed through a dispensing valve. The container is supported in an inverted position so that the dispensing valve is at a base or dispensing end of the container. Accordingly, when the dispensing container is supported in an upright position by the base, bath products stored in the inner cavity gravitate toward the dispensing valve for immediate release. A travel cap seals the dispensing valve for transport. The travel cap is selectively attached to a closed end of the container when the container is in use and the dispensing end of the container to seal the dispensing valve for transport.

  • Patent number: 5626262
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispensing container having an inner cavity for storing content, such as bath products and shampoo, to be dispensed and an opening for dispensing content. The container is supported by a base having a face including a rim ridge about the periphery thereof to define an elevated support ridge and a recessed end surface. A drain slot extends through the rim ridge for allowing fluid trapped under the rim ridge to escape. The base of the container is formed of a base cap which is coupled to a bottle to form the container. The bottle includes a main container segment, a neck having a diameter sized smaller than the main container segment and a shoulder connecting the main container segment and neck. A wall extends from the face of the base cap to define an interior cavity for the base cap.

  • Patent number: 5058775
Abstract: A toggle-acting dispensing closure which is resistant to premature actuation of said actuator during shipping and handling prior to purchase, and which provides evidence that access has been gained to the contents of the associated container. A removable tear tab means is provided on the closure actuator or on the body of the closure which interferes initially with the pivoting of the actuator on the body. The tear tab means is frangibly connected to the actuator or body and is positioned between the body and actuator adjacent the actuator finger pad.

  • Patent number: 4915268
Abstract: A container closure is provided with a body defining a dispensing orifice and a cover disposed on the body for being pivoted between a closed position occluding the orifice and an open position spaced away from the orifice. A hinge connects the cover to the body. The body has a generally smooth applicator surface around the dispensing orifice. The cover has an inwardly projecting sealing protrusion for entering at least partially into the dispensing orifice and sealingly engaging the body at the periphery of the dispensing orifice when the cover is in the closed position. The body and the cover together cooperate to define latching means, such as (1) an engagement between the protrusion and a portion of the body around at least part of the periphery of the orifice or (2) engaging ribs on the body and cover for releasably holding the cover in the closed position.
