  • Publication number: 20110085234
Abstract: A microscope stand for holding an optical and/or opto-electronical (e.g. video) observation system is mechanically connected to a microscope base, such as a basis plate, feet or rack or the like. In at least one embodiment, the microscope stand is made in two parts, the first part being provided for holding the observation system, and the second part is substantially positively connected to the first part. This second part includes at least one, preferably shaft-like, cavity, in which at least one electric or electronic component, which is preferably either an electric illumination system for the object to be examined by way of the observation system (in this respect the illumination system forms part of the observation system) and/or of an electronic camera system.

  • Publication number: 20110080638
Abstract: A microscope includes a microscope basis for placing the microscope onto a surface, e.g. of a working table, a microscope pillar, which stands on the basis and extends substantially in upright direction, a support arm on the pillar, which projects from it and can be adjusted in height from the basis and supports an optical or opto-electrical observing system. The support arm has substantially light-tight walls, which surround at least one cavity. This cavity is located between the optical system and a region that is at least near the microscope pillar. In at least one embodiment, the at least one component is located within the cavity and includes an internal light source. There is a plug-in and holding system for the energy guide, which is either light energy and/or electrical energy.

  • Publication number: 20100259816
Abstract: An illumination device for an object to be examined through the objective of a microscope, comprises an illumination housing to be releasably connectable to a microscope. The housing extends along an axis and has two open front sides for the path of rays of the microscope's objective. For illumination, there is at least one light source which exhibits a plurality of light exits arranged in the illumination housing; wherein the light exits are inclined with respect to the axis of the housing. A translucent plate is connected to and removable from the illumination housing in a tool-free releasable manner so as to cover one of the open front sides as well as the light exits and to serve as a support surface for the object in the cases of dark-field illumination and back lighting bright field illumination.

  • Publication number: 20030142488
Abstract: An illuminating apparatus for a microscope comprises a housing having an opening for passing light through. To this end there is at least one electrical light source in the housing arranged to direct at least one light beam through this opening. There are means for preventing an electrical discharge within the range of the opening and are selected from shielding means and conductive discharge means. Preferably, prevention is effected by a cover for covering the opening and permitting the light beam to penetrate it. This cover means is electrically conductive at least in part and comprises a transparent plate element having at least one surface extending over the opening and including an electrically conductive coating connected to earth potential.
