  • Patent number: 9731363
Abstract: A guide carriage for a cutting device for cutting a cylindrical workpiece. The carriage has a tool carrier for the cutting device and a tensioning member which wraps around the workpiece and is guided over a tensioning element. A tensioning device disposed on a chassis acts on the tensioning element. The tensioning device exerts a tensioning force on the tensioning member via the tensioning element. The tensioning member, a belt, is secured non-displaceably on the periphery of the workpiece. The chassis is movable in the peripheral direction of the workpiece along the belt. The belt bears a connecting element, by which the belt is closed. The connecting element is not fully traversable by the guide carriage. In order to be able to execute a full cut over the periphery, the tool carrier enables the cutting device to be mounted in a first and alternatively a second working position.

  • Patent number: 7836602
Abstract: A protective shield for a trimmer having a cutting head that is rotatable about an axis of rotation and supports a cutting thread that rotates about an axis of rotation with the cutting head and determines a cutting circle, covers at least partially the cutting circle. The protective cover has a base member and a cutting-to-length blade arranged on the base member so as to be positioned circumferentially relative to a cutting circle of the rotating cutting thread. The cutting-to-length blade has a cutting edge that, relative to the axis of rotation of the rotating cutting thread, is arranged in an axially displaced position displaced in an axial direction relative to the cutting circle. A device for axially deflecting the rotating cutting thread out of the cutting circle to the cutting edge is provided.

  • Patent number: 7191795
Abstract: A venting valve for a fuel vessel of a portable handheld work apparatus has a valve housing which includes a base body and a valve cover. A valve plate is mounted between the base body and the valve cover. The valve plate controls a pressure compensating channel connecting the vessel interior space to the outside of the vessel. A cover cap extends over the valve cover and is fixed with an attachment shoulder on the base body. To reliably prevent a separation of the cover cap from the base body, a collar is provided on the liquid vessel wherein the attachment shoulder of the cover cap engages. The collar overlaps the free end of the attachment shoulder over a pregiven axial length (L). The inner diameter (I) of the collar is configured only slightly greater than the outer diameter (A) of the free end of the attachment shoulder.

The valve housing (5) of the venting valve (1) comprises a base body (7) and a valve cover (6). A valve plate (10) is mounted between the base body (7) and the valve cover (6). The valve plate (10) controls a pressure compensating channel connecting the vessel interior space (16) to the outside (17) of the vessel. The valve cover (6) is fixed on the base body (7) by a cover cap (30). The cover cap (30) extends over the valve cover (6) and is fixed with an attachment section (35) on the base body (7). To reliably prevent a separation of the cover cap from the base body, a collar (40) is provided on the liquid vessel (2) wherein the attachment section of the cover cap (30) engages. The collar (40) overlaps the free end (38) of the attachment section (35) over a pregiven axial length (L).

  • Patent number: 6170159
Abstract: A manually guided implement having a drive motor is provided. For a translatory movement of a tool member, the rotational movement of the drive motor must be converted by a gear arrangement, which has a gear wheel that is coupled with a component that glides on the end face of the gear wheel. To significantly reduce frictional losses and also wear of the pertaining components, a constantly effective, reliable lubricant is required. For this reason, at least one cutout is provided in the main body of the gear wheel and/or in the component that can glide on the end face thereof. Such cutouts are open to a glide plane and serve to accommodate a lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5771583
Abstract: The invention is directed to a cutter blade support for a pair of knives of a hedge trimmer. The cutter blade support includes first and second bars conjointly defining a space therebetween. First and second cutter blades are arranged in the space and define respective sets of apertures formed therein. The first bar has openings formed therein and a plurality of threaded bolts are held in the second bar. The threaded bolts extend through the respective sets of apertures and have respective end portions extending through the openings in the first bar. Attachment nuts are disposed on the first bar and threadably engage corresponding ones of the end portions. The threaded bolts are pressed into the second bar so as to be tightly held therein and so as to be nonrotatable with respect thereto.

  • Patent number: 5730183
Abstract: A valve for venting a container has a valve housing with an annular chamber. A ring member with a first axial and a second axial end is arranged in the annular chamber. The ring member has a first sealing lip at the first axial end and a second sealing lip at the second axial end. A first channel and a second channel extend axially along the ring member for venting the container. The first channel vents in a first direction and the second channel vents in a second direction opposite the first direction. The first sealing lip closes off the first channel such that the first sealing lip and the first channel function as a relief valve. The second sealing lip closes off the second channel such that the second sealing lip and the second channel function as a relief valve.
