  • Patent number: 8881614
Abstract: A vehicle transmission includes a transmission input and output along with a main shaft and a countershaft that create a plurality of transmission ratios for providing different gears when combined. The vehicle transmission also includes a range change transmission. The vehicle transmission also has, in the direction of the propulsion power flow from the transmission input to the transmission output, a performance interface downstream of the countershaft and upstream of the range change transmission for connecting an electric motor.

  • Publication number: 20130036848
Abstract: There is provided a vehicle transmission including a transmission input, a transmission output, and a main shaft and a countershaft, which together form a plurality of transmission ratios for providing different gears, wherein the countershaft can be shifted by means of at least one or at least two parallel gear ratios that are optionally shiftable in drive connection with the transmission input. The vehicle transmission further includes a range change transmission, comprising at least two range-change unit transmissions that are different from one another, by means of which the main shaft can be shifted optionally into a drive connection with the transmission output, wherein a performance interface for connecting an electric motor is provided in direction of the propulsion power flow from the transmission input to the transmission output downstream of the countershaft and upstream of the range change transmission.

  • Patent number: 5305515
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for rolling hot wide strips from continuously cast thin slabs in successive steps of operation of a rolling line which includes a continuous finishing train. One or more casting lines and individual thin slabs are severed from the cast strand. The thin slabs are homogenized and adjusted to rolling temperature in an equalizing furnace and the thin slabs are transferred from the equalizing furnace to the rolling line. Roller-type turning furnaces provided in each of the casting lines and in the rolling line are use by turning the roller-type turning furnaces toward each other into positions which are inclined relative to the casting and rolling lines in the manner of switches for alternatingly conveying thin slabs from one of the casting lines through the roller-type turning furnaces into the rolling line.

  • Patent number: 5182847
Abstract: Hot-rolled strips or sections from continuously cast primary material are manufactured in successive work steps in a closed process and arrangement chain. The endless continuously cast primary material is divided after solidification into individual slab pieces of predetermined length. The slab pieces are heated in an equalizing furnace to rolling temperature and are then rolled into the predetermined final dimensions. For bridging a comparatively short interruption, for example, a ten-minute interruption of the rolling process, a slab piece obtained from the uninterrupted casting process is moved into a buffer zone of the equalizing furnace.

  • Patent number: 5044458
Abstract: A drive arrangement for a selectively engageable wheelset includes a clutch and a freewheel arranged in series, one behind the other, between a transmission and the selectively engageable wheelset. The clutch is designed as an overload release clutch, so that overloading of the drive to the selectively engageable wheelset is avoided when the freewheel is engaged. In addition, the clutch will permit interruption of the drive to the selectively engageable wheelset completely and as long as desired. The freewheel can be locked as a function of various operating conditions or upon demand.

  • Patent number: 5014412
Abstract: An invention is directed to a method and an installation for producing a hot-rolled steel strip from continuously cast primary material in consecutive work steps, wherein the primary material is brought to hot rolling temperature after solidification and is inserted into a rolling mill for rolling out into a finished strip, wherein the primary material is coiled after reaching the hot rolling temperature, is stored intermediately in a rotary hearth furnace, and is recalled, as needed, uncoiled and rolled out to form a finished strip, the intermediate storage being effected immediately prior to entering the finishing train, the coils being preferably stored intermediately in a horizontal position and with a horizontal coiling axis, a subsequent heating being effectable during the intermediate storage.

  • Patent number: 4967868
Abstract: A drive arrangement for a four wheel drive vehicle is equipped with a planetary gear set for driving the front wheels which can operate in either direct drive or with a speed increase and which is shifted according to the steering angle .beta. sensed at the front pair of wheels. To avoid an excessively high jump in speed during the transition from direct drive to the increased speed mode, the planetary gearset is gradually shifted, i.e., the planetary gear clutch and/or brake are allowed to slip in proportion to the steering angle .beta..

  • Patent number: 4895217
Abstract: A drive system for a four-wheel drive motor vehicle, in particular an agricultural tractor, includes a gradually lockable differential for the front wheels, a gradually lockable differential for the rear wheels, and a gradually lockable center differential in the drive to the front and rear differential gears. The degree of locking of the respective differentials is controlled by a control circuit based upon their relative rotational speeds, the steering angle and the temperature in the center differential. In an alternative embodiment, brakes on each wheel and on the shafts connecting the center differential to the front and rear differential are used to supplement or replace the differential locks.

  • Patent number: 4802384
Abstract: A procedure for shifting a transmission composed of several gear units in which a number of synchronizer linkages are provided, is so designated that during a gear ratio change in the last gear unit, that is in that unit to which the speed of all preceding gear units must be brought, all shift linkages are initially released. Following this, the shift linkages are re-established beginning with the last gear unit. By this means unnecessary rotating inertias are decoupled, and the shift linkages, and particularly any synchronizing devices, can be reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 4549637
Abstract: A vehicle, such as a tractor, has a main change-speed gear with an associated clutch and a load shift gear coupled to a selector rod. The load shift gear can be shifted under load between a normal position and an under-speed position which produces increased tractive effort by reducing the speed by about 20%. This load shift gear can be operated by the same lever as operates the main change speed gear. In order to prevent simultaneous operation of the main gear and the load change gear, with corresponding interference with the synchronization of the main gear, an interlock device is provided. The interlock device includes a bellows which is connected into the hydraulic circuit for the clutch and, when the clutch pedal is depressed, the bellows holds a plunger in interlocking engagement with one of two grooves in the selector rod which is mechanically coupled to the load change gear. In other embodiments, a mechanical linkage between the clutch pedal and the interlock device is provided.

  • Patent number: 4505374
Abstract: Rolled stock running out of a rolling mill is parted into lengths suitable for the cooling bed. Rolled stock cross sections of various sizes are retarded both at approach speeds of more than approximately 20 m/sec and slower, alongside the cooling bed in an approach roller feed bed and then transversely conveyed over the cooling bed. In order to avoid requiring an uneconomically long cooling bed as a result of the sequence times of the lengths of rolled stock, three or more longitudinal braking sections are arranged side by side to enable thin lengths at a high approach speed to be retarded in rapid succession and conveyed across to the cooling bed. Covering means of the braking sections are constructed to provide additional retardation of the lengths, e.g. by blowing air, by lowering brake shoes or by the action of linear electromagnetic motors.

  • Patent number: 4438657
Abstract: A gear change mechanism for a tractor is designed so that a single shift lever only is used both for gear and "Hi-lo" selection. When the lever is in a gear selected position, it can be swung sideways, bringing with it its associated pivotally mounted shift lever quadrant (12) to make the "Hi-lo" change. A stop (26, 26a) is provided to prevent such a change in neutral.
