  • Publication number: 20210301582
Abstract: A drive system for a garage door with an electric drive controlled by a control unit, by means of which drive the garage door is displaceable between a closed position and an open position. Furthermore, an operating unit is provided, into which input commands for controlling the garage door can be entered. An input command designed as a delivery input command is provided. When a delivery input command is entered, the operating unit causes a partial opening of the garage door for a preset time. After expiry of this time, the operating unit causes the garage door to automatically move to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6215265
Abstract: A method and system for detecting a predefined level of resistance in motor activated drive systems for activating devices such as roller shutters, rolling gates, jalousies, awnings and movie screens in a predetermined direction or path. The method includes means for sensing predetermined characteristics of the electric motor when the electric motor is activated to move the drive in the predetermined path and detecting a predefined change in the motor characteristics due to the blockage or resistance. The electric motor is deactivated when a predefined level of resistance is detected along the predetermined path which blocks movement of the drive by the electric motor in the predetermined direction for a predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 5850131
Abstract: By monitoring the load of the electric motor, it can be reliably determined when the electric motor runs up against a stop in the starting position of the awning, etc.The electric motor turns off automatically and resets an internal counter. When the awning, etc., is being extended, a certain number of pulses is counted per rotation of the electric motor, and after a certain predetermined count value is reached, which indicates that the awning, etc., has arrived at end position, the electric motor is turned off. Because the counting device is reset in the starting position, the electric motor automatically compensates for any change which may have occurred in the length of the fabric of the awning, etc., the next time an actuation is carried out.
