    Abstract: Asynchronous replication of an original data set, at a first location, as a replicated data set, with provision for secure delete operations. A snapshot utility performs a first asynchronous replication operation on an initial version of the original data set to make an initial version of the replicated data set. Some data is subsequently securely deleted from the initial version of the original data set. This secure delete operation is also performed on the initial version of the replicated data set before the next asynchronous replication takes place. In this way, the deletion will be secure (that is, with overwrite) in the replicated data set.

    Abstract: A refrigerant line for carrying a mixture of refrigerant and lubrication oil. The line includes an inner casing made of a material impermeable to the refrigerant/oil mixture, an outer casing made of a material that is highly permeable to the refrigerant in its gaseous state, and an intermediate layer between the inner and outer casings made of a material that is high permeable to the gaseous refrigerant but that is able to retain the admixed oil. In this way, any oil contained in a refrigerant/oil mixture leaking through the inner casing is retained by the intermediate layer, while the refrigerant gas is allowed to escape through the outer two layers. The intermediate layer may retain the oil by absorption, by adsorption, or by binding of the oil.

This highly scalable and parallelizable orphan identification process may be used in a HSM controlled environment to enable the execution of a two-way file orphan check. In one embodiment, this orphan check identifies file system client orphans and server object orphans in a single pass by comparing a queue containing a list of migrated files on a storage repository server with a queue containing a list of stub files on a file system. If the queue elements do not match, a file system orphan or server object orphan can appropriately be identified.
