  • Patent number: 11625105
Abstract: A method for inputting and outputting a text comprising characters is disclosed, wherein the text is input via an input unit and/or output via an output unit in the form of a combination of full text and short text. The short text is input and/or output including at least one abbreviation in the form of characters or combinations of characters, to which predefined full text contents are allocated.

  • Publication number: 20110216006
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inputting data through a keyboard to whose keys individual characters of a character set are assigned, wherein the number of keys is less than the number of characters of the character set and wherein the character set preferably contains punctuation marks. An improvement in operability is accomplished in that sequences of key strokes corresponding to sequences of characters which are impossible or improbable in the context of the data to be input are used for encoding characters or character sequences that are not assigned to a key.

  • Patent number: 6247400
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for producing elevations which can be detected in a tactile manner on a flat recording medium, with the following components: at least one stamp with several printing areas which are provided with one or several elevations; at least one printing plate with several recesses; a drive device to move the stamp in a recording direction along the recording medium; an adjusting device to adjust the stamp so as to bring a printing area to a printing position in which the elevations of the respective printing area are opposite of the recesses of the printing plate and a printing device to press the stamp against the printing plate in order to form one or several recesses on the interposed recording medium which correspond to elevations on the opposite side.

  • Patent number: 6109922
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying information includes a perforated plate having a plurality of circular openings; at least one pin (5, 15, 25, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85) which is axially movable to project through and above a respective circular opening, an electromagnetic actuator (6, 16, 66, 116) for moving the pin (5, 15, 25, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85), and a permanent magnet for retaining the pin in at least two stable positions.

  • Patent number: 5627566
Abstract: A keyboard apparatus having keys selectively interacting with actuation members to provide a preliminary evaluation of a character before actual input of the character is disclosed in one preferred embodiment of the present invention as including at least one key, a triggering unit operably disposed in connection with the key, and sensors arranged on the key. Preferably, the key of the present invention includes at least two selectively actuated sensors which interact with a device, such as, for example, a display or an acoustic indicating arrangement, for generating sound or visible output signals, whereby each sensor generates a different signal. In operation, a response behavior is provided by actuation of the sensors which is different from that of the triggering unit in order to make it possible to provide a preliminary display of the signal before a final input of the signal is triggered.
