  • Patent number: 9149652
Abstract: Among other things, a method for transporting radiation to a body region is described, wherein, in a first step, a canal is formed up to the body region to be irradiated and wherein, in a second step, an applicator (10) which is fitted to the diameter of the canal is introduced into the canal in order to guide a probe tip. Advantageously, applicator (10) is formed for use with a radiation therapy device for producing a defined radiation dose for irradiating a body region, whereby applicator (10) has a base body (11) with a foot region (12) for the uptake of at least one component of a radiation therapy device (30), a cylindrical guide region (13) connecting thereto for the uptake of a probe tip of a radiation therapy device, whereby a transition region (14) is formed between the foot region (12) and the guide region (13), as well as a head region (15), which is formed at the distal end (21) of base body (11). The method can be utilized especially for the treatment of tumors in the vertebral column.

  • Patent number: 8579628
Abstract: An arrangement including an instrument for the insertion of a dental implant including a template placeable on a bone or surrounding tissue. The template, or a first sleeve arranged within the template, includes a through-recess, through which the instrument can be guided. The arrangement enables exact alignment and guidance of the instrument and easy handling. A second sleeve that is axially displaceable on the instrument is provided, and axially fixed in a base position through automatically releasable connecting elements with predetermined retaining force such that when the retaining force is exceeded, the connecting elements can be automatically released and the second sleeve can be axially displaced. The instrument, together with the axially fixed second sleeve, can be inserted in the continuous recess and is aligned in the template via the outer surface of the second sleeve, the surface being configured relative to the inner surface of the recess.

  • Publication number: 20100062389
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement comprising an instrument for the preparation or execution of the insertion of an implant, particularly dental implant, comprising a template, which can be placed on a bone or the tissue surrounding said bone, particularly mucous membrane. The template, or a first sleeve arranged within the template, comprises a through-recess, through which the instrument can be guided at least partially. The arrangement is to be refined in order to provide exact alignment and guidance of the instrument and easy handling. For this purpose, it is proposed to arrange a second sleeve that is axially displaceable on the instrument. Said sleeve is axially fixed in a base position by means of automatically releasable connecting elements with predetermined retaining force such that when the retaining force is exceeded, the connecting elements can be automatically released and the second sleeve can be axially displaced on the instrument.

  • Patent number: 7596287
Abstract: A method for the three-dimensional determination and digitization of a plaster- or positive-model, in particular for the production of replacement teeth, with improved handling and costs. According to the method, a plaster- or positive-model is clamped in a mounting with a defined orientation and irradiated by means of a radiation source; the radiation reflected by the plaster- or positive-model is recorded and evaluated by a scanning unit. Separation information is generated, and defined movement of the plaster- or positive-model relative to the radiation source takes place along an axis (y), approximately perpendicular to the direction of radiation and linking the displacement with the separation information. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.
