Abstract: Systems and method for remotely capturing a barcode and local decoding. The barcode may be captured using a remote imaging sensor. Images captured may be transmitted to a mobile scanner with an incorporated decoder. Additionally, inputs to the mobile scanner may facilitate moving the remote imaging sensor in three-dimensional space. Some embodiments also include a pointer device that may non-destructively mark a position for the remote imaging sensor to target. An image or series of image may be transmitted to the mobile scanner. When an image includes a barcode, the mobile scanner may decode the barcode and provide confirmation feedback.

Abstract: A mobile device and methods that support performing a warm swap of a battery of a mobile device are provided herein. A processor of the mobile device may initiate a warm swap procedure in response to receiving a request from a user operating the mobile device. The processor generate a first notification signal to indicate to the user to wait before removing the battery from the mobile device. In response to execution of the warm swap procedure, the processor generates a second notification signal to indicate to the user that the battery of the mobile device is safe to be warm swapped with a charged battery.

Abstract: A portable data terminal including a main housing, a landscape-oriented large display screen disposed on a top front portion of the main housing and extending nearly an entire width of the main housing, a keyboard disposed on top of the main housing and rearward to the display screen, and left and right battery housings serving as ergonomic handle grips disposed on an underside of the main housing to accommodate two-handed grasping of the device, the keyboard being constructed and arranged to receive input from a pair of thumbs while corresponding hands are grasping and supporting the main housing. In an embodiment, the main housing includes a central housing portion extending downwardly on the underside of the main housing and having an extended front face for containing a scan engine/data reading mechanism and first and second cameras positioned on opposite lateral sides of the scan engine.
