  • Publication number: 20230334593
Abstract: A method, computer system, and computer program product are provided for processing wage payments to an employee according to an employee-specified pay schedule. A computer system receives a payroll event for an employee. In response to receiving the payroll event, the computer system interprets a first structured data object for processing payroll. In interpreting the first structured data object, the computer system identifies an employee-specified pay schedule according to an employee context interpreted from the first structured data object. In interpreting the first structured data object, the computer system determines that a wage payment should be made to the employee according to the employee-specified pay schedule. Responsive to determining that the wage payment should be made, the computer system transmits an order for the wage payment to the employee to a specified wage payment proxy server via a network using a specified communication channel to pay the employee.

  • Patent number: 11276122
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product for configuring a payroll system. The method identifies a subset of rules from a group of payroll rules. The subset of rules correctly correlates payroll input data to payroll output data for a legacy payroll system of an organization. The method translates the subset of rules into a group of policy configuration options for a group of payroll policy templates. The method receives a selection from the group of policy configuration options to create a policy instance for the payroll processing system. The method configures the payroll processing system according to the policy instance.

  • Publication number: 20170323396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for running a payroll. The method identifies a policy instance for an employee by a computer system, wherein the policy instance includes a group of execution units in the computer system that implements a group of rules for a policy with respect to running the payroll for the organization. Further, the method identifies data for the employee by the computer system. Yet further, the method processes the data in the group of execution units in the computer system to run the payroll for the employee, wherein the group of execution units is configured with instance-specific information for the policy instance to process the data for the payroll using the group of rules for the policy.
