  • Patent number: 7565719
Abstract: A hinge for anchoring and folding on a small pintle which has a diameter between 3 and 7.9 mm to form a stepless swiveling and anchoring by increasing the friction resistant force to counter the torque. It includes a maneuvering structure which has a rotary member and an anchor member that form a rotational displacement on a contact surface therebetween that can be swiveled and anchored in a stepless manner and latched on a fixed location for closing. A braking structure is provided that has braking elements and washers to increase the friction resistant forces so that the small pintle has adequate friction resistant forces to anchor a display device after unfolding. The maneuvering structure has anchor elements and retaining troughs of different sizes that cannot be coupled with each other when the display device is unfolded and swiveled to 180 degrees to maintain the original friction resistant forces so that the display device may be anchored at any angle after unfolded.

  • Publication number: 20090007373
Abstract: The present invention includes fabricating a raw metal through a first rolling process to form a body having a base, a bracing portion and a holding trough; placing a forming strut in the holding trough; fabricating the body held the forming strut through a second rolling process to form the bracing portion in an arched shape with the inner side in contact with the forming strut; treating the body with the arched bracing portion and the forming strut in a heat treatment to enhance the hardness; and cutting off the body at a selected length and removing the forming strut to become a finished product of the hinge barrel. The hinge barrel thus formed can provide a required steady friction coefficient. It is simply structured and can be fabricated with a lower force. The probability of product defects resulting from too much or too little friction coefficient can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20080120805
Abstract: A rotating hinge capable of driving a screen to ascend or descend includes a fixed base and a rotating support base. The fixed base has a guide plate with external positioning grooves corresponding to internal positioning grooves for pressing the guide plate, a limit plate linked to the rotating support base and corresponding to the internal and external positioning grooves, and internal positioning protrusion and external positioning protrusion. When the rotating support base is rotating, the positioning grooves and positioning protrusions rise. After the rotating support base rises, a four-point contact can be maintained stably to prevent and resist vibrations. When the rotating support base is rotated to a predetermined position, the positioning grooves and positioning protrusions will match with each other, and the rotating support base will be descended to a position to improve the touch feel and stability of driving a screen to ascend or descend.

  • Publication number: 20050138771
Abstract: A hinge mounted between a joint of two articles is provided. The hinge comprises a sleeve fixed to one article, the sleeve including internal slots, a cam follower including external ridges to fit in the slots so that turning the cam follower will move the ridges either downward to a steady position or upward to a non-steady position along the slots, the cam engages with the cam follower so that the cam adapts to turn either to a first position or a second position with respect to the sleeve, a spring in the sleeve to maintain the cam and cam follower in the steady position, and a shaft having one end fixed to the cam to turn together. The invention is particularly applicable to cellular phones.

  • Publication number: 20040078932
Abstract: A torque regulator device comprises a hinge assembly and a torque generator structure. The hinge assembly comprises a pivotal axle and two rotating elements oppositely connected to the pivotal axle. The rotating elements are further connected to an external structure. When the rotating elements rotate, the torque generator structure generates and regulates by varying the produced torque in accordance with the rotation angle of the rotating elements of the hinge assembly. The hinge assembly is thereby assisted in supporting the external structure that, when folded or unfolded, causes a torque variation, the torque needed by the hinge assembly is thereby reduced, and the service life of the hinge assembly is increased.
