Abstract: Methods and systems for configuration management of computer applications implemented in different configurations use configuration parameters having assigned scopes of applicability. A method includes storing configuration parameters for a computer application for the different configurations. The stored configuration parameters have assigned scopes of applicability. At least one of the assigned scopes of applicability is selected and used to select a set of configuration parameters from the stored configuration parameters for application to a corresponding running instance of the computer application.

Abstract: Network vulnerability testing methods, systems, devices, appliances and software products generate stateful and stateless network representative of network threats. The traffic is applied to a network or device under test, thereby to test the vulnerability of the network or device to threats. A graphical user interface, which does not require a programming or scripting language can be used to generate an intermediate descriptive format that can in turn be used to generate stateful or stateless threat signatures. By using the intermediate descriptive form, threats can be generated under the control of the graphical user interface and in accordance with stored threat signatures, without the need for a programming or scripting language.

Abstract: A management system for event management in a computer network includes management interfaces residing on an administrative computers, management engines residing on server computers, and management agents residing on managed computers within the network. The management agent uses alarms corresponding to predefined events to notify the management interface via the management engine if the predefined events occur, thereby allowing the system administrator to administer the managed computer network. The management agents may also include corrective scripts which are automatically executed in response to the predefined event and a connection aging module which releases inactive connections between the management agent and the management engine.
