  • Patent number: 9115110
Abstract: Process for obtaining ditrimethylolpropane and trimethylolpropane-enriched product streams from the high-boiling fractions and residues which are obtained in the distillative purification of trimethylolpropane includes three stage distillation characterized in that second and third stages are configured as thin film evaporators with a column attachment with the second stage facilitating trimethylopropane recovery and the third stage facilitating ditrimethylolpropane recovery.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 25, 2015
    Assignee: OXEA GMBH
Inventors: Guido D. Frey, Kurt Schalapski, Dirk Bermann, Norman Nowotney, Heinz Strutz, Donald K. Raff
  • Patent number: 9108898
Abstract: A continuous process for preparing primary aliphatic amines having 3 to 18 carbon atoms by reacting corresponding aliphatic aldehydes with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, characterized in that the reaction is carried out without solvent at a molar ratio of aliphatic aldehyde to ammonia of more than 1 to 16, above the critical temperature and above the critical pressure of ammonia.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 2013
Date of Patent: August 18, 2015
    Assignee: OXEA GMBH

  • Patent number: 8841489
Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous method for carrying out a multiphase aldol condensation reaction to obtain mixed ?,?-unsaturated aldehydes by reacting a mixture of two aliphatic aldehydes having different numbers of carbon atoms, i.e. 2 to 5, in the molecule in a vertical tubular reactor in a concurrent flow in the presence of an aqueous solution of a basically reacting compound. In said method, the aldehyde mixture is dispersed in the aqueous phase in the form of drops, and the aqueous solution of the basically reacting compound flows through the tubular reactor as a continuous phase in laminar conditions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 2012
Date of Patent: September 23, 2014
    Assignee: Oxea GmbH

  • Patent number: 8664444
Abstract: A continuous process for producing primary aliphatic amines having 9 to 18 carbon atoms by reaction of corresponding aliphatic aldehydes with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst in the liquid phase, characterized in that the reaction is carried out solventlessly at a molar ratio of aliphatic aldehyde:ammonia of at least 1:30, at a temperature of 100 to 200° C. and at a pressure of 6 to 11 MPa.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 18, 2011
Date of Patent: March 4, 2014
    Assignee: Oxea GmbH
Inventors: Kurt Schalapski, Norman Nowotny, Matthias Eisenacher, Dirk Bermann, Thorsten Kreickmann, Peter Heymanns, Heinz Strutz
