  • Patent number: 4366054
Abstract: A filter assembly particularly for the filtration of compressed air and other compressed gases as well as for air and liquids is formed with a pair of porous support jackets having a filter element located therebetween and defining an inlet side. The filter element is composed of a plurality of layers of filter material having different porosities with the finely porous layer being covered, at least on its surface facing the inlet side of the filter assembly, by a less finely porous layer and the filter element is particularly characterized in that it contains active charcoal.

  • Patent number: 4350592
Abstract: A cartridge filter for gases and liquids having a filter element clamped between an upper and lower cover. The filter includes a profile ring composed of a sealing compound which is firmly connected to the upper end face and an identical and corresponding profile ring firmly connected to the lower end face of the filter element. Sealing rings are embedded in the profile rings. The covers each includes one circumferential groove engaging around the sealing rings in a claw-like manner.

  • Patent number: 4172798
Abstract: A multi-part fluid filter housing having first and second parts and being arranged to contain a replaceable filter element includes complementary frusto-conical mating surfaces between the two parts. The two parts are held together by a screw threaded ring which is screwed onto the outer face of the first part and which includes an internal flange engaging an external flange on the second part. The second part is tapered to improve the flow characteristics of the housing and preferably includes a taper of between 1 and 2%.

  • Patent number: 4157968
Abstract: A filter element for filtering air, other gases and liquids comprises two permeable supporting shells arranged one within the other, and a filter medium filling the space between the shells. The filter medium is formed by a plurality of layers of different filter gauge. The finest filter layer is covered by a coarser filter layer at least on its side which is, in use, towards the inlet for the fluid to be filtered. Preferably the filter medium includes three layers, the middle layer of which is the finest filter consisting of binder-free microfiber fleece and the other two layers are similar coarser filters consisting of binder-free supporting fiber fleece.
