  • Publication number: 20160124853
Abstract: A diagnostic apparatus comprises a diagnostic data buffer constituting a volatile memory, and a non-volatile memory capable of receiving data from the buffer. A data buffer controller is also provided and is operably coupled to the buffer and has an event alert input and a data channel monitoring input for receiving diagnostic data. The buffer receives, when the state of a buffer status memory indicates that the buffer is in an unprotected state, at least part of the diagnostic data received by the controller via the data channel monitoring input to the buffer and the controller sets the state of the buffer status memory to indicate the protected state in response to receipt of an event alert received via the event alert input. A controller monitors the buffer status memory and copies a portion of the buffer to the non-volatile memory in response to the buffer status memory being set to be indicative of the protected state.

  • Publication number: 20160052636
Abstract: An airbag assembly for leg flail protection and associated systems and methods are described herein. An airbag system configured in accordance with an embodiment of the present technology can include, for example, a housing having a cavity and an opening in communication with the cavity, an airbag stowed within the cavity, and an inflator operably coupled to the airbag. The airbag can be configured to deploy through the opening of the housing during a crash or other significant dynamic event. The airbag can deploy outwardly from the side-facing seat to reduce occupant leg rotation during the crash or other significant dynamic event. The airbag can be pushed out of the housing before it is fully inflated. The airbag can be stowed and include folded first and second opposing side portions such that when the airbag is deployed, the portion nearest the occupant unfurls toward the occupant prior to the other portion farthest from the occupant unfurling in a direction away from the occupant.

  • Patent number: 9201722
Abstract: A system-on-chip comprising a sender unit and a receiver unit and a method of operating thereof are described. The sender unit comprises a send counter for providing a send counter value. The receiver unit comprises a receive counter for providing a receive counter value. The sender unit is arranged to increment the send counter value by an increment and send a data packet to the receiver unit. The receiver unit is arranged to receive the data packet and increment the receive counter value by the increment. In a challenge operation, the sender unit sends the send counter value to the receiver unit. In a challenge response operation, the receiver unit receives the send counter value, compares the values, and generates a comparison result. Loss of data packets from the sender unit as well as reception of unexpected data packets from a third functional unit may thus be detected.

  • Patent number: 7801746
Abstract: A dialysis station including several patient places each of which is provided with a dialyzer and a video terminal. In an internal data network, the video terminals are interlinked with each other and with a server including a data base. At a physician place, the treatment course can be followed for each patient place. If necessary, the physician may intervene and prescribe a new or changed medication appearing on the video terminal of the patient place. After having administered the medicine, the nurse acknowledges the administration of the medicine. The dialogue taking place between physician and nurse is documented in the scope of the treatment course.

  • Publication number: 20050234381
Abstract: A medical instrument, in particular a machine for extracorporeal blood treatment, allows for execution of different programs with selectable program parameters. The medical instrument (11) comprises a read unit (14) which is capable of communicating with a transponder (15) carried along by the personnel. Said transponder (15) contains an identification (ID). In dependence on the identification, different access authorizations with regard to selecting programs and/or modifying program parameters are granted.
