  • Publication number: 20100064564
Abstract: A wrap display system (50) employs a stick (70), a flexible display (60) structurally configured to be wrapped around the stick (70), and a hinged frame structurally configured to support the flexible display (60). The flexible display (60) is wrapped around the stick (70) for facilitating a storage of the flexible display (60) and unwrapped from around the stick (70) for facilitating an operation of the flexible display. The hinged frame has a curvilinear configuration for fixing the flexible display (60) in a storage position relative to the stick (70) in response to the flexible display (60) being wrapped around the stick (70), and a planar configuration for fixing the flexible display (60) in an operational position relative to the stick (70) in response to the flexible display (60) being unwrapped from around the stick (70).

  • Patent number: 7604359
Abstract: The present high positioning reproducible mirror-actuator interface disclosed herein overcomes the deficiencies associated with conventional interface systems and offer a number of advantages that are disclosed herein. Generally, the mirror mounts provide a reliable and robust interface between the mirrors and actuators, that serve to move and position the mirrors, as wells as providing an interface between the mirrors and gravity compensator pins. The mirror mount is characterized as having a body that has an outer peripheral wall that includes a plurality of flexible elements around the perimeter of the body, each having a high stiffness in plane and a high flexibility out of plane. The body is open at the first end to allow flexing of the flexible elements. The flexible elements providing a direct coupling interface between the mirror mount and the mirror.

  • Publication number: 20090040638
Abstract: In one embodiment, an actuator for positioning of mirrors in an optical system is provided and includes an actuator base and a reaction mass assembly. The reaction mass assembly includes a reaction mass support member having biasing features formed as a part thereof and a reaction mass that is coupled to the biasing features such that the reaction mass is suspended on biasing elements in six degrees of freedom (DOF). The support member is fixedly connected to the actuator base; however, the reaction mass is not directly attached to the actuator base but rather is supported in the reaction mass support member in a manner that allows it to have six DOF.

  • Patent number: 6478668
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for conveying slaughtered animals, in particular birds or parts of birds, which apparatus includes a plurality of carriers for the animals, each of which carrier is connected via an adjustable coupling device with a conveyor, and which travel a path passing at least one inspection or processing station. During operation of the conveyor, each carrier at a predetermined position in the conveyor's path is rotatable about a substantially vertical axis by adjusting the coupling device via at least one operating unit positioned along the path, and wherein along the conveyor's path there is at least one guide member provided which is capable, after the carrier is rotated to a predetermined position, of moving the animal suspended from the carrier such that it is diverted around the processing station.

  • Publication number: 20020009967
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for conveying slaughtered animals, in particular birds or parts of birds, which apparatus comprises a plurality of carriers for the animals, each of which carrier is connected via adjustable coupling means with a conveyor, and which travel a path passing at least one inspection or processing station, wherein during operation of the conveyor each carrier at a predetermined position in the conveyor's path is rotatable about a substantially vertical axis by means of adjusting the coupling means via at least one operating unit positioned along the path, and wherein along the conveyor's path there is at least one guide member provided which is capable, after the carrier is rotated to a predetermined position, of moving the animal suspended from the carrier such that it is diverted around the processing station.

  • Patent number: 6182409
Abstract: A building element (1) comprising an outer sheath and an inner core, the sheath being formed of a material having a greater tensile strength than compressive strength and the core having a greater compressive strength than tensile strength; wherein the outer sheath is longitudinally extending and has a first face (7) and a second face (8) which are spaced apart, first (9) and second (21) edges and a first and second end; wherein the first face (7) and the second face (8) are joined at the first (9) and second (21) edges to form the outer sheath as a continuous body, and wherein the first edge (9) and the second edge (21) are so shaped that the first edge (9) of one such building element (1) is adapted to locate in the second edge (21) of another such building element (1).
