  • Patent number: 11480087
Abstract: A mixer apparatus for an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of a motor vehicle. The apparatus includes a housing having enveloping, first end, and second end walls. An injection opening for an exhaust gas aftertreatment agent is in the enveloping wall. An inlet opening is in the first end wall. The injection opening is configured for mounting a metering module. A rectilinear metering axis, which extends through the metering module and corresponds to an injection direction of exhaust gas aftertreatment agent injected into the housing, tangentially contacts, at a contact point, a theoretical cylinder, disposed in the housing, having a variable radius and a cylinder axis that is congruent with a central axis of the housing. A region of the metering axis extending from the injection opening to the contact point is located, with respect to inflowing exhaust gas, in the shelter of an opening-free region of the first end wall.

  • Patent number: 8528390
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for metering a reagent, in which the reagent is sprayed into a spray tube (12) via an electrically activated metering valve (24), and is mixed in the spray tube (12) with compressed air, and in which the reagent mixed with compressed air is introduced by means of the spray tube (12) into an exhaust gas duct (10) and is atomized, and a device for carrying out the method. The procedure according to the invention is distinguished in that the duration of the metering valve activation signal (34) is corrected depending on the differential pressure between the hydraulic pressure (p_Rea_hyd) of the reagent in the metering valve (24) and the pneumatic pressure (p_D_pneu) in the spray tube (12). The procedure according to the invention permits a high degree of accuracy in the metering of the reagent.

  • Patent number: 7849675
Abstract: A medium supply system of an exhaust gas cleaning device for treating the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine comprising a storage tank and a supply line which is connected to the storage tank for supplying the medium to a dosing unit connected to an exhaust pipe and to a recycling line for recycling the medium to the storage tank. The supply line and/or the recycling line are provided with at least one conduit area comprising at least one first and second parallel partial channels for the medium circulation, wherein said partial channels exhibit different insulation properties. An exhaust gas cleaning device comprising the inventive supply system and a method for the operation thereof are also disclosed.
