  • Patent number: 7556040
Abstract: A hyperbaric capsule has a base forming a seat that can be enclosed by an elongate oval canopy having a large transparent window formed therein. The bottom of the front of the canopy is pivotally attached to the front of the base by a hinge assembly and can be locked in the closed position on the base by a plurality of latches that are conjointly operated by an external lever and an internal lever. The weight of the canopy upon opening is borne by a pair of side gas or spring struts.

  • Publication number: 20090159826
Abstract: The present invention relates broadly to a valve (10) comprising a valve body (14) connected to a valve member (16). The present invention relates broadly to a valve (10) comprising a valve body (14) connected to a valve member (16). The valve body (14) includes a fluid passageway (18) across which the valve member (16) is connected. The valve member (16) includes a plurality of valve elements such as (20A and 20C) which are moveably coupled to the valve body (14) to permit opening and closure of the valve (10). The valve member (16) includes a collapsible opening (22) located at or adjacent an apex of the conical-shaped valve member (16). The valve (10) includes a series of resilient hinges such as (30A and 30C) disposed about a perimeter of the valve member (16). The resilient hinges (30A and 30C) are substantially straight and configured to minimise the force required in deflecting the valve elements such as (20A) to open valve member (16) and expose the collapsible aperture (22).

  • Patent number: 7037038
Abstract: A water skimmer vessel has two hulls (12, 14) between which a debris collection net or basket-like catcher (22) is arranged. Hinged flaps (68) are provided at each end of the catcher and operate to allow inflow but block outflow of debris from the catcher. Each hull of the vessel is equiped with amoter covered by a guard (28). The vessel may move in either direction and is equipped with sensors (30) on each hulll for effecting the turning and reversing of the vessel upon contact with pool skimmer box inlet (206) and the vessel can be controlled to enter the dock and permit the contents of the catcher to be discharged into the current of pool water flowing into the skimmer box.

  • Patent number: 5417028
Abstract: A top chord for a roof truss, the top chord has a cross section so that the chord has a top web joining to side flanges. The side flanges have converging flange portions which are corrugated so as to have corrugations extending away from the web.

  • Patent number: 5325651
Abstract: A wall frame for building. The wall frame includes a generally horizontally extending plate which is engaged by a stud. Relative movement between the plate and stud are inhibited by the use of clips or brackets and deformations formed in the plate. In one embodiment, the plate is provided with eyelets which project through the stud, with the eyelets being engaged by a clip. In another embodiment, a bracket surrounds the stud and engages the plate side walls to secure the stud in position.

  • Patent number: 4986051
Abstract: The upper chord of a metal roof truss which comprises an elongated beam (10) formed of rolled form metal strip which is of a constant cross-section having longitudinally extending portions (13, 14, 15 and 16) providing flat surfaces of such dimensions that with the application of excessive load upon the beam breakdown of substantially all of said portions occurs simultaneously, and wherein most of the flat surfaced portions are of a width not exceeding that which will comply with following formula (I), where: F.sub.a =maximum permissible compression stress expressed in Mpa, .OMEGA.=load factor, Q=form factor which allows for the effective cross-sectional area, F.sub.oc =elastic buckling stress expressed in Mpa, F.sub.y =yield stress expressed in Mpa.
