  • Patent number: 6567814
Abstract: A computer-based method and apparatus for knowledge discovery from databases. The disclosed method involves the user creation of a project plan comprising a plurality of operational components adapted to cooperatively extract desired information from a database. In one embodiment, the project plan is created within a graphical user interface and consists of objects representing the various functional components of the overall plan interconnected by links representing the flow of data from the data source to a data sink. Data visualization components may be inserted essentially anywhere in the project plan. One or more data links in the project plan may be designated as caching links which maintain copies of the data flowing across them, such that the cached data is available to other components in the project plan. In one embodiment, compression technology is applied to reduce the overall size of the database.

  • Patent number: 5631507
Abstract: An electric power generator has a housing having an inner cavity having a center and an inner circumferential surface spaced at a varying radial extent from the center. A magnetic flux generator has a body offset from a point of rotation. The magnetic flux generator is rotatable at the center. The magnetic flux generator has a central passageway for slidably receiving a shaft with a magnet. The magnetic flux generator has a coil mounted about the central passageway in an inductive relation with the magnet. A spring is disposed between the shaft and magnetic flux generator for urging the shaft into contact with the inner circumferential surface whereby as the housing rotates, the magnetic flux generator rotates relative to the housing urging the shaft to travel along the inner circumferential surface causing relative back and forth motion of the shaft through the passageway inducing a voltage in the coil.

  • Patent number: 5582392
Abstract: A wire stringing device which comprises a barrel having a cylindrical bore which is closed at one end and open at the other end, a handle depending from said barrel, a compression spring disposed within the bore in proximity to the closed end, a projectile insertable into the bore whereby when the projectile is within the bore the spring is compressed against the closed end of the bore, the projectile adapted for attaching a flexible line thereto, a trigger adapted for engaging the projectile and maintaining the projectile within the bore and for releasing the projectile in response to finger pressure, whereby the projectile and the flexible wire may be projected from the device, and an adjustable compression member axially movable within the bore adjacent the closed end of the bore for adjusting the compression of the spring. The device may comprise a safety latch for locking the projectile in the barrel.
