  • Publication number: 20130005633
Abstract: Provided are lubricating compositions comprising in admixture at least 40 wt % of a base stock selected from the group consisting of Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV and Group V base stocks, or any combination thereof, one or more polyalkylene glycol mono ethers, and at least one additive. Also provided are methods of improving the friction and wear properties of a base stock selected from the group consisting of Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV and Group V base stocks, or any combination thereof, comprising blending the base stock with one or more polyalkylene glycol mono ethers and at least one additive, to form a lubricating composition.

  • Patent number: 7396969
Abstract: A process for producing alkyl aromatic compounds which comprises contacting at least one aromatic compound with at least one alkylating agent or transalkylating agent possessing at least one aliphatic group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms under alkylation or transalkylation reaction conditions and in the presence of an alkylation or transalkylation catalyst, to provide an alkylated aromatic product possessing at least one alkyl group derived from said alkylating agent or transalkylating agent, said catalyst comprising a binder-free molecular sieve having an X-ray diffraction pattern that includes the lines set forth in Table A.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 2005
Date of Patent: July 8, 2008
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation

  • Patent number: 6670517
Abstract: A process for alkylating aromatics is provided which comprises contacting an aromatic-containing feed with alkylating agent in the presence of a silica-bound ZSM-5 zeolite catalyst, wherein the ZSM-5 has a crystal size no greater than 0.05 micron, said contacting being conducted under alkylating conditions to provide a product containing a monoalkylated aromatic fraction and a polyalkylated aromatic fraction, wherein the polyalkylated aromatic fraction contains at least 40 wt. % of the para-dialkylaromatic species. The polyalkylated aromatic fraction may be contacted with unsubstituted aromatic and a transalkylation catalyst under transalkylating conditions to provide a mono-alkylated aromatic-rich stream, e.g., an ethylbenzene-rich stream.
