  • Patent number: 10259464
Abstract: A method and system for controlling at least one predefined function of an electronic multi-function apparatus usable during travel by a vehicle driver is provided. The electronic multi-function apparatus is connected to a control unit of the vehicle by a communication link. Data of the vehicle driver and/or data on the journey is acquired, and on the basis of the acquired data at least one characteristic value which is characteristic of the degree of loading of the vehicle driver by his current vehicle control process is formed. The at least one predefined function of the electronic multi-function apparatus is controlled based on the at least one characteristic value in such a way that a degree of loading of the vehicle driver when using the function is matched to the degree of loading of the vehicle driver corresponding to the current vehicle control process.

  • Publication number: 20180268039
Abstract: A computer implemented method for recommending car/passenger resources for a user includes extracting a trip including a start and a destination from location data of the user, wherein paths with the same start and the same destination are clustered into one trip, and generating time information corresponding to the trip, according to time data corresponding to the paths clustered into the trip, wherein the time information includes a range of departure time. The method includes calculating a frequency of occurrences for one trip within a predetermined time period as a habit value of the trip for the user. The trip, including the start and the destination, the time information corresponding to the trip, the habit value of the trip, and transport modality information indicating the user as a driver or a passenger, are combined to generate mobility habit data for the user.

  • Publication number: 20180245939
Abstract: A method for transmitting a navigation destination to a navigation appliance of a vehicle includes: receiving navigation destination data from a first, mobile communication device via a second, mobile communication device; producing a list of geocoding services for geocoding the navigation destination data; determining a geocoding service from the list of geocoding services; geocoding the navigation destination data using the defined geocoding service; transmitting the geocoded navigation destination data to the navigation appliance of the vehicle; identifying a collision between the geocoded navigation destination data and possible navigation destination data of a navigation map of the navigation appliance of the vehicle; and adopting the geocoded navigation destination data as the navigation destination of the navigation appliance of the vehicle if a collision is not identified.

  • Patent number: 9983019
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a navigation system of a motor vehicle for searching for possible destinations, wherein a processing device of the navigation system is used: to receive a search input from a user, to search a first database and a second database for suitable database entries in each case on the basis of the search input and in this case to provide a first and a second results list of suitable database entries. The first database stores database entries that indicate geographical regions, and the second database stores database entries that indicate road names and/or special destinations. For each road name and/or special destination the second database indicates a reference to at least one geographical region. The processing devices determine entry pairs that each contain a database entry from the first results list and a database entry from the second results list as the possible destinations.

  • Patent number: 9286689
Abstract: A method and system for recognizing a pedestrian's step is provided for a portable terminal. The portable terminal has an acquisition unit. In an image of a sequence of images acquired by the acquisition unit, an object is, in each case, detected which represents at least a part of a foot, a shoe, and/or a leg. The position of the object is determined in the respective image, and a pedestrian's step is recognized as a function of a position change of the object between at least two images of the sequence of images.
