Publication number: 20140095405Abstract: An automated item notification device is described. The automatic notification device is configured to be secured within a drop box and comprises a communication module, a deposit sensor, a camera and processor. The communication module communicates with a remote resource. The deposit sensor senses deposit of an object and provides a wake-up signal in response thereto. The camera captures an image of an interior of the drop box in response to the wake-up signal. The processor is configured to compare the captured image with a previously acquired reference image stored in memory to determine if the object has been received in the drop box. In response to detection that the objected has been received in the drop box, a message is transmitted to the remote resource that the drop box needs to be serviced, and the processor enters an extended sleep mode. In response to detection that the objected has not been received in the drop box, the processor enters a sleep mode.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: LYNGSOE SYSTEMS LTD.Inventors: Don FERGUSON, Alex OPREA

Patent number: 8558751Abstract: Logistical passage measurement systems are provided. A representative system includes: an excitation unit having dual loop antennae, with a first loop and a second loop, the two loops located in and parallel to the same plane, and adjacent to one another, and a control box for exciting said antennae, the control box arranged to drive the currents of the two loops, such that the phase difference between the currents of said two loops alternates with time between 0° and 180°, and wherein the amplitude of the currents for each loop is of a first level when the phase difference is 180° and wherein said amplitude is of a second level, lower than the first level, when the phase difference is 0°.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2006Date of Patent: October 15, 2013Assignee: Lyngsoe Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Don Ferguson, Mircea Paun, Ioan Nicolescu, Alex Oprea, Tudor Patroi

Patent number: 7984437Abstract: A system and method for application scoping that can be added to the application model for an application server, making it less global-centric and more application-centric. The JNDI tree is configured to allow for an application-private JNDI section. This private JNDI section then acts as a private data repository for the application. Resources that are needed by the application can be stored in the application-specific JNDI tree, and thus “scoped” to that particular application. As applications are added to the system, they can be specified in this way. The overall result is fewer changes at the system-wide or global level. The application scoping features provided by the invention include: Use of application scoped JNDI tree; Application Scoped JDBC DataSources; and Application Scoped Security. Application scoped resources provide two primary advantages—Security, in that resources owned by one application can't be used by another; and Simplified packaging and configuration.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2007Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Mark Spotswood, Sanjeev Chopra, Stephen R. Patent number: 7864052Abstract: The present invention relates to a system that will permit the automatic measurement of the efficiencies of a delivery process from end to end. This system uses Radio Frequency based transponders and reader infrastructure to capture data as objects that contain RF transponders pass process points. In particular this invention permits the capture of delivery data automatically at the final end point. This invention is applicable in delivery applications such as those performed by post offices.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2006Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Assignee: Lyngsoe Systems Ltd.Inventors: Don Ferguson, Mircea Paun, Ioan Nicolescu

Patent number: 7769825Abstract: A runtime architecture for web services utilizes a container driver to accept an invoke request for web services, such as from a protocol adapter. The container driver performs any necessary data binding and unbinding required to process the invoke request and associated message context, utilizing an appropriate plugin component. An interceptor receives the context information from the container driver and modifies the message context for web service compatibility. An invocation handler receives the formatted context information from the container driver and passes parameters from the message context to the target of the request. The invocation handler processes values returned from the target and passes these values to the container driver. The container driver can then formulate a response to the invoke request, and return the response and message context to the client or protocol adapter.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2003Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: BEA Systems, Inc.Inventors: Todd Karakashian, Manoj Cheenath, Don Ferguson
