  • Patent number: 10995632
Abstract: An airfoil for a gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an airfoil section extending in a spanwise direction, extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge in a chordwise direction, and extending in a thickness direction between a pressure side and a suction side. The airfoil section has a main body and a first skin. The main body includes a plurality of ribs defining a plurality of internal channels. The first skin is attached to the main body to enclose the plurality of internal channels such that the main body and the first skin cooperate to define the pressure and suction sides. A damper has at least one layer of damping material sandwiched between the first skin and the plurality of ribs. A method of forming a gas turbine engine component is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2019
Date of Patent: May 4, 2021
    Assignee: RAYTHEON TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION
Inventors: Eric W. Malmborg, Donald A. Jacques

  • Patent number: 6952901
Abstract: An exterior weather shielding panel assembly for fitting against an external side wall of a building, comprising a rigid back board for anchoring engagement with the building side wall, a waterproofing membrane applied against the back board, an air ventilating screen applied against the waterproofing membrane opposite the back board, and a plurality of shingles disposed against the screen outer face in slopewisely cascading fashion. Nails concealed by the overlapping sections of upper rows of shingles fixedly anchor the panel assembly components to the residential building side wall. The panel assembly is manufactured in factory before installation on the building.

  • Patent number: 4993823
Abstract: A method for providing corrections of distortions of an imaging device. Initial corrections may be provided through the use of active optics, to apply forces to the imaging device, or to a compensator device in a common optical path with the imaging device, so as to introduce deformations that cancel out the distortions. This action, in turn, may induce undesirable, secondary aberrations. The method of the invention provides steps for identifying, isolating and removing the undesirable secondary aberrations, and computing new applied forces that cannot induce the secondary aberrations.

  • Patent number: 4875765
Abstract: A method for providing corrections of distortions of a mirror. Initial corrections may be provided through the use of active optics, to apply forces to the mirror to introduce deformations that cancel out the distortions. This action, in turn, may induce undesirable aberrations. The method of the invention provides steps for identifying, isolating and removing the induced undesirable aberrations, and computing new applied forces that cannot induce the undesirable aberrations.

  • Patent number: 3940893
Abstract: An A-frame home includes interconnected roof panels. The joint connection is at the apex of the abutting upper panel edges which includes abutting vertically disposed surfaces. Aligned horizontal slots are formed in the vertical surfaces and connect with enlarged cavities. The slots and cavities form an I-shaped passageway. An I-shaped connecting element is slidably positioned in the I-shaped passageway for locking the panels together. The upper edges of the panels are horizontal and flat while the top portion of the vertical abutting faces are slightly spaced apart to receive a rib extending downwardly from a cap. The rib includes laterally extending teeth for gripping the adjacent groove surfaces. A pair of shoulders oppositely disposed relatively to the rib extend downwardly from the cap for engagement with the top horizontal surface of the panels and downwardly extending flanges are provided on the outer edges of the cap wings and the flanges extend downwardly along the outer panel surfaces.
