  • Patent number: 6296886
Abstract: A process for removing creases from a film eliminates a problem in the quality of the heat seal for a patch bag having at least a segment of one or more bag side edges (or the bag bottom edge) covered by one or more patches. The film creases are removed by inflating the film tubing which is later converted to a bag, heating regions containing the creases with a heating means to a temperature which, in combination with the pressure within the inflated tubing, causes the creases to relax. The heated crease-containing regions are then cooled and the inflated tubing is deflated and wound up in a new configuration in which at least one patch covers at least one side edge or the bottom edge.

  • Patent number: 6292225
Abstract: A precision horizontal positioning (PHP) system for precisely positioning two overlaid video images includes a phase-locked loop, a frame controller, and a delay circuit. The precision horizontal positioning system adjusts the phase of a second video signal until the start of active video of the second video signal coincides with the start of active video of a first video signal. The delay circuit is incorporated in the feedback path of the horizontal synchronization signal of the second video signal such that the second video signal is pushed forward in time to align horizontally with the first video signal.

  • Patent number: 5576037
Abstract: A shrink bag having an integral carrying handle is provided that includes an extended skin portion of the bag of a heat shrinkable thermoplastic material and having a carrying hole in the skirt portion with an essentially continuous heat seal around its margin, the carrying hole having a configuration which helps to distribute stress and substantially eliminates tear propagation. The bag is particularly adapted for packaging whole turkeys and the like and, to this end, the integral carrying handle is preferably located at the breast containing end of the bag.
