Abstract: Disclosed are passive reflector radio communications systems, such as for UHF frequencies or greater than UHF frequencies, and related deployment systems and devices that provide underground communications. Embodiments of the system include reflector elements to provide passive radio communications, structural frameworks to support and orient the reflector elements, methods for calculating reflector size, shape, and position corresponding to a desired wavelength, and deployment methods and devices to install the communication system at a desired location. The passive reflectors can be placed in a folded or otherwise compact mode, for transport into underground tunnels. Once at the desired installation location, the system can be installed, with the reflectors positioned appropriately for the radio frequencies used at the location.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for adding bitter flavor to beer and other beverages. The present invention concerns the use of compositions comprising compounds that are present in hop extracts or in beer and result from natural processes that occur during processing or storage (aging) of hops or beer. The present invention further concerns the use of suitable amounts of a composition comprising humulinones for adding bitter flavor to beer and other beverages.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for automatically purging oil from the jets supplying lubricant to bearings and seals in a turbine engine after shutdown. To accomplish this task, pressurized air is tapped from the air plenum just downstream of the engine compressor stage. The pressurized air is stored in a small tank using an air check valve in the incoming line so that the air tank is charged to the highest pressure achieved by the engine compressor during its operation. The outlet of the air tank is connected to the oil jets used for lubricating the engine bearings and seals. A snap action valve is inserted in the air supply line to activate and deactivate airflow out of the tank. The snap action valve is designed to be switched "off" whenever there is positive oil pressure in the lubricating supply line of the turbine engine. After engine shutdown, lubricant flow drops, reducing oil pressure to zero.
