  • Patent number: 5189945
Abstract: A grilling surface is cooled by circulating water from a reservoir. The surface is preferably formed by two parallel metal sheets which are deformed to space them apart and to form heat passageways therethrough. The sheets and the circulation passageway formed therebetween extend continuously between and around the heat passageways. Reservoirs on the sides of the circulation passageway are in direct communication therewith and are configured to receive pans. Food in the pans is cooked by heat from the water in the reservoir. Covers on the grill and pans may be aligned to communicate steam from the pans to a grilling chamber formed by the grill cover. The grilling surface may be flat. Alternatively, it may have a wok-like configuration.

  • Patent number: 4895473
Abstract: A vertical leg (14) is received through a ring (16). An over-center latch mechanism is mounted inside a cavity (6) in a side rail (2). The end surface (2a) of the rail (2) has a recess (4). A shaft (24) has one end (26) secured to the ring (16) and extends from the ring (16) through an opening (8) in the rail (2) which communicates the recess (4) and the cavity (6). The inner end (28) of the shaft (24) is engaged by a lever (32) of the latch mechanism. Pivoting of the lever (32) pulls the ring (16) into the recess (4) and the leg (14) into contact with the end surface (2a) of the rail (2) above and below the recess (4). There is no contact between the ring (16) and any portion of the rail (2) to allow automatic adjustment for surface irregularities of the rail (2) and leg (14) and ensure firm contact between the leg (14) and rail (2). Preferably, the end (26) of the shaft (24) is pivotable relative to the ring (16).

  • Patent number: 4607972
Abstract: A vertical support member (2, 42) has one or more vertical slots (4, 44) each of which is dimensioned to receive the end of a side rail (6, 50). A portion of a lock member (12, 56) is also received into each slot (4, 44) contiguous to a side rail (6, 50). One end of a rod (18, 58) engages member (12, 56). Rod (18, 58) extends through a horizontal portion of the structure, and its second end is engaged by an adjustable fastener to pull member (2, 42) and the horizontal portion together. In a first embodiment, two perpendicular side rails (6) are received into slots (4), and a diagonal corner brace (8) extends between rails (6). Lock member (12) extends around member (2) between slots (4). A bolt (18) engages a center portion of member (12), extends through member (12) and brace (8), and is fastened by a nut (22). In a second embodiment, one rail (50) is received into a T-shaped slot (44). The lock member is a plate (56) received into the head portion (46) of slot (44).
