Abstract: A cutting device for a board machine is disclosed. The board machine includes at least two parallel shafts. One shaft is mounted by eccentric assemblies which vary the center line of rotation of the shaft. A first cutter head is mounted on that shaft and a mating cutter head is mounted on the other shaft. The first cutter head includes a first cylindrical member having external teeth which mate with a second cylindrical member having internal teeth. The mating cutter head mounts a slotting knife and a cross knife, while the first cutter head mounts an adjustable knife. The eccentric assemblies eccentrically move the shaft to reorientate the first and second cylindrical members to move the adjustable knife relative to the slotting knife to cut or score boards of different thickness while maintaining a desired spacing between the cross knife and an anvil surface defined by the second member.

Abstract: A cutting device for a cutting machine for use in the corrugated box industry is disclosed. Cooperating rollers or heads are positioned on opposed rotatable shafts. The heads are disposed for cutting or scoring material passed through the heads. A hub assembly is connected to each of the heads for releasably securing the heads to the shaft. The hub assembly is resiliently biased in a manner to secure the rollers on the shaft. A rotatable cam is positioned adjacent the hub assembly. The rotatable cam is rotatable to engage and move the hub assembly in a manner whereby the hub assembly disengages from the shaft and allows the heads to be moved along the shaft to a new position.

Abstract: The application discloses a gluing apparatus for an adjustable machine for manufacturing corrugated boxes of a plurality of sizes. The apparatus includes an automatic glue dispensing head for applying glue to a corrugated box blank. The dispensing head is operatively connected to a mechanism for indexing the dispensing head towards and away from a centerline of the box manufacturing machine. The indexing mechanism is driven by a means operatively connected to an adjustable assembly station on the box manufacturing machine. Adjustment of the assembly station to produce a preselected size box correspondingly indexes the glue head towards or away from the centerline to a predetermined direction and distance from the centerline of the machine to apply glue to the box blank.

Abstract: A corrugated box machine having improved delivery means is disclosed. A conveyor belt assembly works in combination with tensioning apparatus, a support bracket assembly and an idler guide assembly.

Abstract: An improved stop plate and belt assembly for the stacking section of a corrugated box machine and an improved system for conveying corrugated boxes from the folding section to the stacking section of a corrugated box machine.
