  • Publication number: 20130171686
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of trans-seasonal bioremedial treating of mine-influenced water and soil (MIWAS) in situ with microorganisms for removal of contaminants containing heavy metals compounds. The method comprises the steps of: a) sampling indigenous microorganisms from the MIWAS site being treated; b) identifying and/or isolating indigenous microorganisms that consume selected compounds to be treated in the MIWAS; c) propagating at least one of the indigenous microorganisms identified or isolated in step b); and d) reintroducing propagated microorganisms either on the soil surface or subsurface at the MIWAS site together with a source of nutrients and a carbon source for the microorganisms; wherein when the microorganisms, nutrients, and carbon source are reintroduced on the soil surface, they are subsequently buried.

  • Patent number: 7407731
Abstract: A photosensitive resin composition comprising: (a) at least one polybenzoxazole precursor polymer; (b) at least one compound having Structure VI ?wherein, V is CH or N, Y is O or NR3 wherein R3 is H, CH3 or C2H5, R1 and R2 each independently are H, C1-C4 alkyl group, C1-C4 alkoxy group, cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl, or alternatively, R1 and R2 can be fused to produce a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring; and (c) at least one solvent; wherein the amount of the compound of Structure VI present in the composition is effective to inhibit residue from forming when the composition is coated on a substrate and the coated substrate is subsequently processed to form an image on the substrate, and with the proviso that if the polybenzoxazole precursor polymer solely consists of polybenzoxazole precursor polymers that do not contain a photoactive moiety in the polymer, then (d) at least one photoactive compound is also present in the composition.

  • Patent number: 5833851
Abstract: A screw press separator is provided herein for separating and deliquifying a slurry of solids and liquids e.g., a slurry of manure and water, or any other slurry of similar physical characteristics. The separator includes a cylindrical housing having a slurry inflow port. A cylindrical strainer basket extends rearwardly from the housing for the passage of separated liquid therethrough. A cylindrical discharge chamber extends rearwardly from the outlet end of the strainer basket to define a solids discharge opening. A motor driven auger is disposed within the housing and the strainer basket, the auger including a shaft extending through the housing, through the strainer basket and through the cylindrical discharge chamber, for driving the auger for advancing the slurry rearwardly within the cylindrical housing. A spring-loaded door assembly which is connected to the shaft, is provided at the exit of the cylindrical discharge chamber.
