    Abstract: The present invention relates to trihalo alkyl sulfone and mixtures of bis(trichloro methyl) sulfone (BTCMS), a non-ionic surfactant and a cationic quaternary ammonium halide surfactant formulated as a stable solution in water. The method of formulation comprises adding the BTCMS to an aqueous system containing a nonionic surfactant and a cationic quaternary ammonium halide surfactant. These formulations are useful as biocides and present advantages over organic solvent based formulations.
