    Abstract: A coupling for connection to an end of a hose to allow fluid to pass therethrough. The coupling comprises a tapered end inserted into the end of the hose and a tapered collar fitted on the outside of the hose. Once assembled, the collar provides uniform compression of the hose about the tapered end thereby preventing detachment or leakage. The coupling is designed such that it can be field installed and uninstalled without the need for specialized installation tools.
