  • Patent number: 4622725
Abstract: A fastener for mounting a circuit board or the like to a frame is disclosed. A mounting arrangement uses removable fasteners which are received by non-circular openings in the circuit board and rotated into engagement with the surfaces of the circuit board. The fasteners have at least two substantially parallel resilient limb members which have opposing recesses for receiving a frame member. This arrangement is especially useful for mounting non-rectangular circuit boards or for non-parallel mounting of circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 4562988
Abstract: A mechanism for mounting a video display unit (or the like) to a base unit is disclosed. The mechanism includes a ball-shaped (or partial sphere-shaped) portion which mounts to the bottom of the display unit. The base carries a circular bevelled rim-shaped member for mating with, and providing support for, the ball-shaped member. A slot in the ball-shaped member carries a sliding member. A stud, fixed to the base unit, passes through the sliding member such that pivoting of the display unit occurs about the axis of the stud. Tilting occurs by the display unit moving relative to the sliding member (i.e. the sliding member moves in the slot). Consequently, tilting is provided about an axis orthogonal to the axis of the stud.

  • Patent number: 4544122
Abstract: An interlocking modular support device for a video display or the like is disclosed. The support comprises ring-shaped modules that are identical one with another. The height of the support is adjusted by varying the number of modules employed. The modules are ring-shaped and lock together with a rotary action. The modules also lock to the video display unit they are supporting as well as to a base unit, larger than the modules, to provide a stable base for the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4398166
Abstract: A compensator for CRT deflection yokes and the like comprises a housing shaped for connection with the deflection yoke, and at least one magnet rotatably mounted therein. Selective rotation of the magnet alters the electromagnetic field produced by the deflection yoke to alleviate distortion in the CRT display. A detented spring arrangement positively and releasably retains the magnet in a set, adjusted angular position in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4273997
Abstract: A unitary, demountable, insertable modular magnetic transducer transport assembly for use with accounting records such as magnetically encoded bank account passbooks, magnetic striped ledger sheets and credit cards including self contained magnetic transducer transport for timing track and data pick-up mechanisms capable of being operably coupled to and forming part of an automatic data print out apparatus for on line data processing of accounting information.

  • Patent number: 4151564
Abstract: A reader/writer credit card modular assembly wherein a T-shaped vertically disposed rail member provides accurate positioning of a credit card relative to a read/write transducer and to a timing track transducer through a reference plane established by means of horizontally disposed pins carried by the rail member. The credit card is vertically supported on the pins which in conjunction with a built-in tool or gauge member adjustable parallel to the card enables accurate preadjustment for a plurality of electromagnetic transducer heads arranged to be moved across the front surface of the credit card effective thereby to read from or write upon the credit card in synchronism with a prerecorded timing track disposed adjacent and parallel to the credit card.

  • Patent number: 4087680
Abstract: A semiautomatic free standing credit card information handling apparatus comprising a rectilinearly movable carriage supporting read/write means slidably movable across the face of a vertically disposed information bearing credit card in read/write registry therewith. Means is provided for flattening the credit card each time the apparatus is initialized for a read/write operation effective to maintain the read/write means in constant contact with the information storage portion of the card. Oppositely disposed magnet means indicate the limit of travel right and left of the read/write means. Solenoid operated interlock means including manual initiate and override means operable in conjunction with cam means engageable by the credit card enable and disable the apparatus and concurrently prevent removal of the card prior to the termination of the read/write cycle of operation.
