  • Patent number: 5483730
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for forming coils of yarn and for heat setting the yarn. The apparatus has a coiler adapted to receive yarn from a yarn source and to form the yarn into a plurality of overlapping loops of a desired size. The coiler preferably includes a supporting frame, a pair of feed rolls mounted on the supporting frame and adapted for feeding yarn from a yarn source, and a rotatable coiler tube positioned downstream from and cooperating with the feed rolls. The coiler also includes a first variable speed drive connected to the pair of feed rolls and adapted for rotating the same at a predetermined speed and a second variable speed drive connected to the coiler tube and adapted for rotating the same at a speed to thereby form loops of yarn of a desired size. The apparatus further has a conveyor positioned below the rotatable coiler tube for receiving overlapping loops of yarn thereon.

  • Patent number: 5475907
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for forming coils of yarn and for heat setting the yarn. The apparatus has a coiler adapted to receive yarn from a yarn source ant to form the yarn into a plurality of loops of a desired size. The coiler preferably includes a supporting frame, a pair of feed rolls mounted on the supporting frame and adapted for feeding yarn from the yarn source, and a rotatable coiler tube positioned downstream from the feed rolls. An air blowing device is positioned between the feed rolls and the coiler tube for facilitating the advance of the yarn into and through the coiler tube. A first variable speed drive is connected to the pair of feed rolls and a second variable speed drive is connected to the coiler tube for rotating the coiler tube at a selected speed to thereby form loops of yarn of a desired size.

  • Patent number: 5042418
Abstract: A flag display device adapted to be mounted on the exterior of a vehicle or other object on which a flag may be displayed. The flag display device has a base, a plurality of spaced apart suction cups carried the base which are adapted to grip an exterior surface of the vehicle; a flagstaff; clips for attaching the flag to the flagstaff; and a mount for mounting the flag staff on the base and adjusting the angle of the flagstaff relative to the base so that the flag may be positioned at a desired angular attitude. The mount has a first toothed member integrally formed with the base which extends upwardly therefrom and having its teeth arranged on one side and projecting outwardly in a direction generally parallel to the base. A second toothed member is integrally formed with the lower end of the flagstaff so that its teeth intermesh with the teeth of the first toothed member.

  • Patent number: 4967482
Abstract: A support bracket has a base member adapted for attachment to a particular measuring tool and a vertical member extends from the base member and it has a horizontal slot within its top edge which mounts a tape rule by way of the tape rule spring clip. The tape rule is oriented on the support bracket such that measurements may be made along a common baseline with reference to the measuring tool and a workpiece to be measured while, at the same time, measurements may also be made along a ruler edge of the measuring tool which is positioned at an angle with respect to the common baseline.

  • Patent number: 4236278
Abstract: A planetary coiler for strand material includes a circular rotary stabilizing member in which a coiler member is eccentrically positioned for rotation therein, and drive arrangements are connected to the coiler member for imparting rotation thereto and for moving the same in an orbital path of travel so that the coiler member transmits rotation to the stabilizing plate member by virtue of the orbital path of movement of the coiler member.

  • Patent number: 4227841
Abstract: A boring bar whose body has an inclined end surface on one free end thereof against which an elongate cutting member is positioned. The inclined end surface has a recess extending inwardly therefrom in which a yoke member is positioned, the yoke member having a portion extending outwardly beyond the inclined end surface and perpendicular thereto and surroundingly engaging the cutting member, and a screw or other suitable securing element cooperates with the yoke member for applying an inward force thereto in a direction perpendicular to the inclined end surface for clampingly securing the cutting member firmly against the inclined end surface of the body.
