    Abstract: A tree climber's stand has at least one pin securing a tree encircling strand when the strand is being shortened or lengthened by a climber in order to level the tree stand. An anchoring block on an end of the strand has an elongated slot spanning more than one hole in the tree stand frame for receiving a pair of pins, one of which always extends through the slot to anchor the strand.
