  • Patent number: 5816051
Abstract: A cooling and refrigeration apparatus cools surfaces of meat cutting machines, scales, and food preparation areas so as to inhibit bacterial and other microbial growth. The apparatus includes a cooler to lower the temperature of the food contact surfaces to a predetermined temperature which inhibits bacteria and other microbial growth by providing a surface at the predetermined temperature adjacent to or at the food handling surfaces. The cooler is either a thermoelectric module or an accessory source of cooled air.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 14, 1997
Date of Patent: October 6, 1998
Inventors: Renee M. Hall, Donald M. Hall

  • Patent number: 5628522
Abstract: A cart includes a frame, a leg attached to the frame, and a wheel movable relative to the frame. A handle is operatively associated with the wheel and with the frame, whereby the work surface is in a normally stationary, inoperative position, and positive movement of the handle causes the wheels to engage the floor and place the work surface in an operative, movable mode. The work surface is engineered so that it is automatically returned to its stationary mode when no user is actively placing the work surface in its movable mode.

  • Patent number: 5503087
Abstract: A support frame for a piece of equipment such as food handling equipment, or the like, includes a base with a pair of laterally spaced rails. A plurality of spaced apart beams extend generally transversely between the rails and are slidable relative to the rails in a first direction. A plurality of saddle members are positioned on the beams for supporting a piece of equipment and slide relative to the beams in a second direction which is generally transverse to the first direction. The saddle members on the rails are preferably configured and located for being sheltered from falling debris. An easily cleaned curved underbelly pan may likewise be provided for catching falling matter.

  • Patent number: 5483782
Abstract: Beam includes a V-shaped or T-shaped main load-bearing member, having an apex and a mouth spaced from the apex. A cladding member is disposed on the V-shaped main load-bearing member, covers the mouth thereof, and defines a support surface. In a preferred embodiment, the cladding member is stainless steel and the V-shaped main load-bearing member is galvanized steel.

Abstract: A support frame for a food handling equipment, such as a meat slicer or the like, includes a base with a pair of laterally spaced immovable rails. A plurality of spaced apart beams extend generally transversely between the rails and are slidable relative to the rails in a first direction. A plurality of saddle members are positioned on the beams for supporting a food handling equipment and slide relative to the beams in a second direction which is generally transverse to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5456191
Abstract: The adjustable height work surface includes a support for supporting a work surface spaced from and relative to the ground, an adjustment member associated with the support and with the work surface for moving the work surface for varying the distance between the work surface and the ground, and a lock-out member for preventing operation of the adjustment member when at least a predetermined force is being exerted on the work surface.

  • Patent number: 5386787
Abstract: The slidable work surface system includes a frame, a support member disposed on the frame, a work surface member provided on the support member, and a brake located between the frame and the support member. The brake has an engaged and a disengaged position, and restricts movement of the support member relative to the frame when the brake is in its engaged position. Another embodiment of the device includes a slidable work surface system having a display case associated therewith.

  • Patent number: 5330064
Abstract: The support assembly includes an upright member, an exterior support member adjacent to the upright member, the exterior support member being configured for being disposed between the upright member and an outer perimeter of a frame of a holding rack, a caster disposed substantially below the exterior support member, and the caster including an extension received in a hollow tube of an upright member. Another embodiment of the invention includes a holding rack having a frame defining an outer perimeter, and an upright member disposed at the outer perimeter of the frame that is a part of a support assembly, an exterior support member adjacent to the upright member, the exterior support member being configured for being disposed between the upright member and an outer perimeter of a frame of a holding rack. A caster is disposed substantially below the exterior support member, the caster including an extension received in a hollow tube of the upright member.
