The package includes a receptacle substrate having a sealing flange and at least one receiving cell formed to retain product therein. A polymer top layer covers the cell and a portion thereof is sealed to the sealing flange. A score pattern is formed in at least one surface of the top layer and overlapping the cell. The score pattern is defined by a first plurality of score lines formed in a repeating pattern and a second plurality of score lines formed in a repeating pattern. The first and second plurality of rows overlap one another to define a plurality of intersections, with the overall score line pattern having a total linear length of the score lines per cell of at least 5 inches and a total number of score line intersections per cell of at least 10.

Abstract: A package supports and dispenses one or more longitudinally stacked product pieces (18). The package includes a sheet positioned around the stacked product pieces. The sheet includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced weakened locations (120) extending transversely thereabout. The weakened locations include a pair of weakened extents (125) which are closely longitudinally spaced. Each weakened location defines a severable location for the sheet to permit dispensing of the product from the package.

The curved or bowed score lines transversely intersect the rows of straight lines above the receptacle hollow.

Abstract: A machine for making funnel cakes includes a holding tank for containing a generally fluid batter, a channel suitable for containing a cooking liquid, and a heater for heating the cooking liquid in the channel to a temperatures suitable for cooking funnel cakes. A plate is disposed at one end of the channel in an upper position adjacent the surface of the cooking liquid. A dispensing head dispenses a predetermined amount of batter from the holding tank onto the plate, and a pneumatic cylinder moves the plate from its upper position in which the batter forms a generally solid, uncooked product to a lower position in which the solid uncooked product floats away from the plate. A submerged track in the channel leads away from the deposit station. The funnel cake is guided along this track submerged in the cooking liquid to completely cook the funnel cake as it moves along the track. At the end of the track, the funnel cake is automatically removed from the cooking liquid.

Abstract: This flue control assembly is for use with a combustion chamber, such as an oven, having a thermostatically controlled burner valve circuit and includes a damper pivotally mounted in the oven flue for rotation between open and closed positions by an air actuated, movable arm assembly. The air actuated arm assembly is supplied with air from a valve controlled air pump and the valve includes a movable valve element which is resiliently connected to the movable arm and the movable valve element is moved into position to condition the supply of air from the pump by movement of the damper. An electrical switching system connected to the burner valve circuit ensures that the burner valve cannot be actuated unless the damper is in the open position in the flue.

Abstract: This dispensing device is for use with a mixing bowl having a discharge port. The device is connected to the bowl below the discharge port to receive mix from the bowl and includes a horizontal dispensing chamber having a discharge port at one end. A plunger mounted within the chamber includes a one-way valve passing the mix through the plunger head when the plunger moves away from the dispensing port and urging the mix out of the dispensing port when the plunger moves toward the dispensing port. The plunger is actuated by a piston and cylinder assembly which includes an adjustable stop predetermining the travel of the plunger and hence determining the quantity of mix dispensed.
