  • Publication number: 20070027190
Abstract: Disclosed herein are antibacterial compounds that inhibit fabl, a NADH-dependent enoyl [acyl carrier protein] reductase enzyme in the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway. The compounds are represented by structural formulas Ia and Ib: R1 and R2 are independently monocyclic aryl or heteroaryl groups, wherein the groups represented by R1 and R2 are optionally substituted with one or more acyclic substituents; R3 is —H or an optionally substituted C1-C8 aliphatic, C3-C8 cycloaliphatic, aryl, or heteroaryl group. X1 is a bond or a C1-C3 alkylene chain that is optionally substituted with a C1-C4 alkyl or an acidic group. X2 is an aryl, heteroaryl or C3-C8 cycloaliphatic ring, wherein the group represented by X2 is optionally substituted with triazole, tetrazole, and/or one or more acyclic substituents.

  • Patent number: 7066038
Abstract: A material stability test system has a plurality of sealed test containers mounted in an environmental chamber. Each container has a humidifier for generating a desired humidity within the container. The environmental chamber is operable to provide a desired temperature within the environmental chamber. A test sample is mounted in each container. A sensor unit on each container senses the temperature and humidity within the container. An associated datalogger unit on each container connected to the sensor unit collects and transmits sensed temperature and humidity data at timed intervals via radio link to a remote monitoring station including a pc for recordal and/or display.

  • Publication number: 20060046246
Abstract: Materials and methods for identifying unique sites in bacterial 16S and 23S rDNA are provided, as well as specific unique sequences of 16S rDNA in select bacteria. The distinguishing moieties will enable rapid differentiation between families, genera, groups, species, strains, subspecies, and isolates of microorganisms. Such differentiation can be performed by using rapid screening kits in combination with in silico analysis for diagnostic, prognastic, epidemiologic, phylogenetic, and other purposes.
