Publication number: 20150163989Abstract: A towable agricultural implement having a center section and foldable wings mounted by hinges on opposite sides of the center section to fold upwardly or downwardly about substantially longitudinal hinge axes. Each hinge has a spaced ball joint and guide roller in roller slot. A wing float axis for each wing extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal hinge axis in a transverse direction, each wing also being pivotal about the float axis. The hinge design with the float axis prevents weight transfer between the center section and wing sections when the implement operates over uneven soil, providing uniform soil conditioning over the width of the implement. The center section rollers are positioned ahead of, behind, or co-linear with the wing rollers. Lockout kits are provided for mounting within the roller guide slots for restricting motion.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2015Publication date: June 18, 2015Inventors: Donald R. Landoll, Phillip R. Landoll, Christopher Lee Tamm, Richard W. Penner

Patent number: 8863882Abstract: A hydraulic steering actuator system for a forklift with front and rear sections includes a hydraulic steering motor. The forklift front section includes a mast mounting a pair of fork blades and a pair of wheels. The forklift rear section mounts a pair of drive wheels. The forklift front and rear sections are connected by an articulated connection with a vertical rotational axis. The steering actuator motor driveshaft extends along the vertical rotational axis. First and second actuator mounting brackets are connected to the forklift front and rear sections respectively. One of the mounting brackets includes upper and lower locking assemblies locking the hydraulic steering motor driveshaft whereby torque applied to the steering motor is transmitted to the articulated connection for turning the forklift front section relative to the forklift rear section. The range of motion is preferably 180°-205° for accommodating side-loading operations from relatively high storage shelves.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2012Date of Patent: October 21, 2014Assignee: Landoll CorporationInventors: Donald R. Landoll, Mel A. Beikmann, Shannon W. Gibson

Publication number: 20140054051Abstract: A tillage implement with raisable soil-leveling reels includes a main frame, which can include a center section and wing sections hingedly connected to the center section. The wing sections are adapted for being hydraulically rotated and raised from generally horizontal field positions to transport/storage positions. Gangs of earth-working tools, such as coulter discs or tines, are mounted on the wing sections. The soil-leveling reels are mounted on trailing arm assemblies, which are adapted for raising and lowering the reels between raised, transport/storage positions and lowered, field-engaging positions. Hydraulic piston-and-cylinder units are connected to compression springs and adapted for raising and lowering the arm assemblies and the reels. The compression springs absorb and dampen jolts and impacts from field irregularities and transport motion-induced forces, thus protecting the piston-and-cylinder units.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2013Publication date: February 27, 2014Applicant: Landoll CorporationInventors: Donald R. Landoll, Dirk E. Nichols

Patent number: 8434657Abstract: A multi-station, gantry-based automated welding system includes a gantry mounting robotic arc welders or other equipment. The gantry has a range of travel over multiple workstations, each workstation being adapted for rotatably mounting a respective workpiece on a headstock assembly and a tailstock assembly, which define a workpiece or weldment rotational axis extending therebetween. The tailstock assembly can be located at different positions within a workstation for accommodating different lengths of workpieces. Encoders are installed at the moving elements of the system for precisely tracking and providing output to the computer controller. Primary and secondary power/data distribution systems include cable and hose carriers for providing mobile power/data connections to the gantry and also to the robotic arc welders mounted thereon. The power/data distribution systems are elevated above a facility floor to avoid interfering with equipment, personnel and activities at floor level.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2012Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: Landoll CorporationInventors: Donald R.
