  • Patent number: 7068369
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring fruit properties, in order to classify fruit according to internal qualities, measures the sweetness of a fruit sample using near-infrared spectroscopy. The apparatus includes a pair of waveguides (12), a pair of optic emitter/sensor assemblies (14), a light-interrupting unit (20), and a light detector (40). The light detector calculates the intensity of light, transmitted from a light source and received by the optical emitter/sensor assemblies, thus allowing spectral analysis and interpretation for the determination of sweetness and acidity of a variety of fruits. The light detector controls the light-interrupting unit to interrupt the optical path when the light intensity is reduced. The apparatus is suitable for use in an automated line, for effective and reliable measurement of internal fruit properties, to improve operational efficiency and precision in fruit selection.

  • Publication number: 20060003139
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent device and a method of preparing the same are provided. The organic electroluminescent device includes a sealing layer which is formed on a sealing substrate, and which includes a cohesion layer, a transparent polymer layer, and a transparent moisture absorption layer. Since the transparent moisture absorption layer of the organic electroluminescent device is provided to a sealing substrate using an attaching method, the organic electroluminescent device has an improved life span property due to a firm sealed structure and better light extraction efficiency due to the transparent moisture absorption layer below the sealing substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050285513
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent display device has a sealing substrate, an organic electroluminescent element which is formed on the sealing substrate and which includes a first electrode, an organic layer, and a second electrode sequentially deposited, a multilayered thin film deposited on the second electrode, and a substrate bonded to the sealing substrate. The multilayered thin film includes an inorganic protective layer, an organic protective layer, and a moisture absorbing layer. The organic electroluminescent display device significantly prevents the permeation of air and moisture at the edge of the device. Accordingly, the organic electroluminescent display device has a long lifetime.

  • Publication number: 20050277355
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescence device whereby an encapsulating layer is formed by coating an encapsulating substrate with an encapsulating layer-forming composition and thermally processing the encapsulating substrate. A plasma treatment is performed on the encapsulating substrate having the encapsulating layer. A sealant is applied to at least one of the plasma treated encapsulating substrate and a substrate on which an organic electroluminescent unit including a first electrode, an organic layer, and a second electrode, which are sequentially stacked, is deposited. The sealing substrate and the substrate on which the organic electroluminescent unit is deposited are combined. Contaminants generated around the encapsulating layer and generated in the thermal process can be effectively removed by the cleaning process using plasma. Therefore, the interfacial adhesion between the sealant and the substrate is greatly improved, thereby preventing permeation of external air, moisture, etc.

  • Publication number: 20050264189
Abstract: A flat panel display and method of fabricating the same are disclosed. The flat panel display includes a first substrate having a pixel region; a light-emitting element located on the pixel region; a second substrate located opposite the first substrate; and a sealant located between the first and second substrates to cover the light-emitting element. At least one of the first and second substrates includes a groove formed around at least a portion of the circumference surrounding the pixel region. When the first and second substrates are pressed together with the sealant between them, the sealant spreads, covering the light-emitting element, and at least partially filling the groove.

  • Publication number: 20050231085
Abstract: A flat panel display device. The device includes a plurality of self-luminant devices, each of which includes at least a light emitting layer, formed on every pixel, and a lens sheet having a plurality of condensing lenses that correspond to the self-luminant devices and direct the light emitted from the self-luminant devices toward a predetermined direction. A distance between the light emitting layer and an exterior portion of the condensing lens in the direction of propagation of the light is between 50 and 500 microns so as not to overlap images of neighboring sub-pixels, that are expanded by the condensing lenses. Therefore, a lowering of image sharpness that is caused by the condensing lenses can be prevented, while a light coupling efficiency and a brightness are improved.

  • Patent number: 5805826
Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting compressed video data includes a data interfacing circuit, a data connecting circuit, a decompression unit, and a CPU. The data interfacing circuit receives and stores compressed video data, generates a first control signal in response to receipt of the compressed video data, identifies an address bus and a data bus used for transmitting the compressed video data and then generates a hold permission signal in response to receipt of a hold request signal. The data interfacing circuit also provides output of the compressed video data in response to receipt of an address control signal. The decompression unit generates a data request signal to request input of said compressed video data. The decompression unit receives the compressed video data from the data interfacing circuit and decompresses the compressed video data to generate a motion picture in response to receipt of a data permission signal.
