  • Patent number: 11240340
Abstract: Provided are techniques for optimized deployment of analytic models in an edge topology. A description of a multi-tiered edge topology with a plurality of nodes, a multimedia stream analytics composition, and performance objectives are received, where the multimedia stream analytics composition includes tasks that use analytic models. The analytic models are optimized and clustered to form clusters of optimized analytic models. A representative optimized analytic model is selected from each of the clusters. A configuration recommendation is determined that indicates deployment of the tasks and of each selected representative optimized analytic model on the plurality of nodes to meet the performance objectives. One or more workflows are generated from the configuration recommendation and executed on the plurality of nodes to generate output for the multimedia stream analytics composition.

  • Patent number: 11226997
Abstract: A chatbot answer database can be generated from a question and answer document. A question/answer processor can receive a document that includes questions and answers. A set of entities can be determined from the answers in the document. A set of triplets can be constructed from the answers, and stored in a chatbot database. For each answer, the question/answer processor can determine text for slots of the triplet based on the entities extracted from the answer. The triplet can be stored as a tree structure in a database of tree structures associated with the document. A chatbot can receive questions, and provide answers based on the database of tree structures associated with the document.

  • Patent number: 11188199
Abstract: A website navigation system has an analysis system which receives a request for an Internet web page from a client device. The analysis system receives web page data associated with the web page from the Internet and performs a data analysis process to organize the web page data for use in a virtual conversation with the user in order to present the web page in an audible format. The analysis system identifies separate elements of the web page from the web page data and extracts information from the separate elements based on the web page data. The analysis system groups the separate elements into categories based on the extracted information and sorts the groups of separate elements based on usage statistics. The analysis system then generates a prompt for being output to the user by the client device as audible output based on the sorted groups of separate elements.

  • Patent number: 11183304
Abstract: A method and system for preventing falls and accidents is provided comprising. A user's location and movement are monitored by a number of input devices. The user's activities are also monitored by a number of input devices. Potential dangers are identified within a first specified proximity of the user, and a determination is made if the user's current activity indicates a cognitive load that exceeds a predefined threshold. In response to identification of a potential danger within the first specified proximity and a concurrent determination that the user's cognitive load exceeds the threshold, a number of devices within a second specified proximity of the user are activated to alert the user of the potential danger.

  • Publication number: 20210349852
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and computer program product in which operations are performed to receive a question that includes a descriptor and an indication that indicates that a unique answer to the question is expected. A determination is made of instances of matching descriptors and descriptor targets from a set of documents. The determined descriptor targets are compared for consistency. In response to determining that the determined descriptor targets are inconsistent, more restrictive descriptors are iteratively generated via a selection model based on metadata associated with the question until the descriptor targets are consistent. An answer to the question is returned from consistent descriptor targets.

  • Patent number: 11157536
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for the use of a text simplification in a question answering (QA) system to improve ingestion quality and QA performance. A source corpus is processed to generate a parsed source corpus, which in turn is processed to generate a shadow corpus of simplified text. The parsed source corpus and the shadow corpus are then processed to generate derived data resources. A user query is processed to generate a set of merged candidate answer variants which are in turn processed to generate a corresponding converged feature vector representing each merged candidate answer variant. Feature values associated with each converged feature vector are then used to rank the merged candidate answer variants. A ranked set of merged candidate answer variants is then provided to the user.

  • Patent number: 11102276
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for receiving, by a computing device, a question from a user. A first answer provided by a first subject matter expert is identified. A second answer provided by a second subject matter expert is identified. It is determined that a profile of the user matches a first profile of the first subject matter expert more than a second profile of the second subject matter expert. The first answer provided by the first subject matter expert is sent to the user with a preference over the second answer provided by the second subject matter expert based upon, at least in part, determining that the profile of the user matches the first profile of the first subject matter expert more than the second profile of the second subject matter expert.

  • Publication number: 20210256049
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system to implement a cognitive natural language processing (NLP) system with descriptor uniqueness identification to support named entity mention clustering. The mechanism annotates a set of documents from a corpus of documents for entity types and mentions, collects descriptor usages from all documents in the corpus of documents, analyzes the descriptor usages to classify the descriptors as base terms or modifier terms, generates compatibility scores for the descriptors, and performs entity merging of entity clusters based on the compatibility scores.

  • Patent number: 11074286
Abstract: A selected document from corpus of a cognitive computing system is processed according to its association with a category of documents already contained within the corpus, such as a topical category. Then, the cognitive computing system is engaged automatically to query one or more questions previously-associated with the category to discover discrepancies between the selected document and the other corpus documents. If a discrepancy is found, a confidence factor based upon extracted natural language entities and relationships is assigned to the discrepancy, and it is flagged and reported to a user for reconciliation.
