  • Publication number: 20190156256
Abstract: One or more portions of a text corpus indicative of operational risk from a set of risk assessment documents is identified. Contextual features from the one or more portions of the text corpus are determined by applying a natural language processing (NLP) algorithm on the one or more portions. Abstract: A method and system for automatically determining a processing path is provided. The method includes generating an input criteria associated with performing a hardware apparatus implemented process. Metadata describing the input criteria is generated and stored. Weighting factors associated with the metadata are generated and a specialized hardware apparatus executing the hardware apparatus implemented process is enabled. Measurement characteristics associated with conditions resulting from the specialized hardware apparatus executing the hardware apparatus implemented process are retrieved from a plurality of hardware sensors. • Publication number: 20190129903
Abstract: A selected document from corpus of a cognitive computing system is processed according to its association with a category of documents already contained within the corpus, such as a topical category. Then, the cognitive computing system is engaged automatically to query one or more questions previously-associated with the category to discover discrepancies between the selected document and the other corpus documents. If a discrepancy is found, a confidence factor based upon extracted natural language entities and relationships is assigned to the discrepancy, and it is flagged and reported to a user for reconciliation.

  • Publication number: 20190130005
Abstract: The program directs a computer processor to implement a program that selects at least one substitute ingredient for a food recipe based on a plurality of determined criteria. The program receives a food recipe comprising one or more ingredients, instructions, and preparation time. The program determines time constraints of a user. The program identifies one or more Internet of Things (IoT) enabled cooking devices that are available in a kitchen associated with the user to carry out the instructions of the food recipe. The program searches a market database in a market to identify available options for the at least one substitute ingredient found in the market database based on a similarity level of the at least one substitute ingredient compared with at least one ambiguous ingredient in the food recipe, and selects the at least one substitute ingredient according to the plurality of determined criteria.

  • Patent number: 10229154
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for subject-matter analysis of tabular data are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A first document including the tabular data is received. A library of functional signatures for a first subject-matter domain is selected. A determination is made whether a threshold number of functional signatures from the selected library are applicable to the tabular data, wherein a functional signature is applicable to the tabular data when values in the tabular data correspond to an operation and a table structure specified in the functional signature. Responsive to the threshold number of functional signatures from the selected library being applicable to the tabular data, a processor and a memory process the first document according to a process for the first subject matter domain selected from a plurality of processes for respective subject matter domains.

  • Patent number: 10217377
Abstract: Mechanisms for training a human user to perform an operation and provided. The mechanisms generate a domain specific knowledge base comprising a set of entities and corresponding domain specific attributes and expand the domain specific knowledge base to include values for the domain specific attributes through an automated bootstrap learning process that performs natural language processing and analysis of natural language content using a set of pre-condition annotated action terms, thereby generating an expanded domain specific knowledge base. The mechanisms evaluate an input from another device identifying an action associated with an entity in the set of entities, based on a retrieved domain specific attribute value and the retrieved pre-condition annotation from the expanded domain specific knowledge base. The mechanisms output a notification to a user computing device indicating whether the input is correct or incorrect to thereby train a user associated with the user computing device.
