  • Publication number: 20220177208
Abstract: Multi-layered packaging materials. In an embodiment, a packaging material includes: an outer layer comprising a colorant and from about 70 wt % to about 99 wt % of a first post consumer resin (PCR); and an inner layer comprising a polymer and being about 3 wt % to about 99 wt % of the total packaging material. The packaging material can also include a middle comprising another colorant and from about 70 wt % to about 100 wt % of another PCR. In another embodiment, a packaging material includes: an outer layer comprising a first colorant and from about 70 wt % to about 99 wt % of a first virgin polymer; a middle layer that is about 40 wt % to about 95 wt % of the total packaging material, the middle layer comprising a PCR; and an inner layer comprising a second virgin polymer. The foregoing packaging materials can be made by co-extruding the different layers therein.

  • Patent number: 8124243
Abstract: Thermoplastic films particularly suited for use in bags including at least a core layer comprising an ethylene copolymer, wherein the films are subjected to post-quench biaxial orientation are provided. Optionally, the films may have a first skin layer and/or a second skin layer located on each side of the core layer. Embodiments may have the desirable combination of improved puncture toughness and ultimate tensile strength, low manufacturing cost and desirable optical and tactile properties.

  • Patent number: 5462807
Abstract: The invention concerns a certain class of polymers, their production into films and applications for their use. These polymers have unique properties which make them particularly well suited for use in polymeric films. These films are very useful in applications requiring heat sealability, particularly those applications containing an ionomer film.It has been discovered that polymers derived from metallocene catalyst systems surprisingly heat seal extremely well, as compared to polymer produced by conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts, to a class of polymers known as ionomers.
