  • Publication number: 20220129209
Abstract: Techniques are provided to allow a user to select specific criteria for outputting (e.g. printing, displaying, or sending) selected portions of digital content. The digital content is analyzed to determine the type of processing required and user preferences available. The user may then be able to select portions of the document to be included or excluded. The processed digital content is then printed, sent, or displayed to the proper recipients based at least in part on the user selections.

  • Patent number: 10265469
Abstract: The present invention relates to a compensation device for setting a flow rate of an infusion solution, a device for automatically controlling the flow rate of the infusion solution, and a method for controlling an optimal target flow rate using a flow rate coefficient of a flow rate controller, the compensation device adjusting a display scale of an infusion solution flow rate controller corresponding to a target flow rate on the basis of a one-time actually measured flow rate in setting the target flow rate by controlling an infusion solution flow rate controller of an infusion solution.

  • Patent number: 5675607
Abstract: Encumbrances on making calls charged to a card can be reduced by a) storing information so that an association is created relating a card number and at least one calling telephone station, from which card calls charged to the associated card are to be made, b) using the association to retrieve the card number at the time a card call is made from the at least one associated telephone station and c) automatically supplying the retrieved card number to the telephone network at the appropriate part of call set-up, so that the card number need not be entered by the calling party. The association between the card number and the telephone station, which may be referred to as a "logical link", is 1) independent of any pre-existing relationship between the card number, or any subset thereof, and the telephone number of the telephone station and 2) continues to exist despite the going on hook of the calling telephone station.

  • Patent number: 5537470
Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling incoming calls to a service provider facility having a number of agent terminals. The method includes the steps of routing an initial call to an original agent at one of the agent terminals; storing for a predetermined time a caller identifier for the initial call and a corresponding agent identifier; identifying a subsequent call placed within the predetermined time by a caller having the stored caller identifier; and routing the subsequent call to one of the agent terminals in accordance with the stored agent identifier. If the original agent corresponding to the stored agent identifier is busy, the caller may be prompted to elect between waiting in a queue for the original agent, or connection to any available agent. The caller identifier may be, for example, a Calling Line Identity (CLI), an Automatic Number Identification (ANI), a telephone number of a caller terminal, or a portion of a calling card number.

  • Patent number: 5504805
Abstract: In a system such as an AUDIX.RTM. voice mail system or answering machine, a caller's telephone number is extracted from a recorded message using voice recognition. The called party initiates automatic dialing of the calling party's number after confirming that the number was correctly recognized by the system.

  • Patent number: 5416835
Abstract: Call setup time is reduced by automatically (1) identifying the type of signaling used by a caller to communicate with a central office, and (2) providing an indication of the signaling type to telephone switches or databases that will participate in routing and processing the telephone call. Dual Tone Multifrequency (DTMF) detectors located at a central office of a local exchange carrier detect whether a caller is using DTMF signaling. The local central office includes this information in a signaling message provided, for example, to interexchange carriers and other service providers which will use DTMF signaling during and after call setup. In this manner, the need to query the caller for this information is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4788715
Abstract: In an automatic call distributor system, calls waiting in a queue to receive attendant service are informed of the expected waiting time prior to connection to an attendant. This permits callers to defer a call if the queue is excessively long and they can place the call at a later time. The announcements are periodically updated to reassure customers that they are, in fact, progressing in the queue. Customers are given the opportunity to leave a message such as a telephone number if they do not wish to wait. Advantageously, such an arrangement avoids a situation wherein a customer impatiently disconnects just before being served or waits too long unexpectedly because of absence of information on remaining waiting time.
