The compounds possess anti-oestrogenic activity and are useful in the treatment of anovulatory infertility and the breast tumors. Representative of the compounds disclosed is 1-(p-.beta.-dimethylaminoethoxyphenyl)-trans-1-p-hydroxyphenyl-2-p-tolylbu t-1-ene.
