Abstract: A buoyant cosmetic gel formulation with a high moisture content that increases the longevity and facilitates the application of the formulation on a user's skin through various means of application. The buoyant cosmetic gel formulation contains a volatile liquid, a polysaccharide as a film forming and structuring agent, a humectant, effect pigments, and an anhydrous phase. The formulation suspends the effect pigments in a manner in an aqueous phase formed by the polysaccharide and the volatile liquid. The formulation is externally applied on a user's skin and is perceived as soft and light weight.
