Abstract: A DC to DC converter constituted of: a control circuitry; a DC power input and return; a DC power output and return; a plurality of inverters, each comprising an input and an output, the inputs of the plurality of inverters coupled in parallel across the DC power input and return; a plurality of transformers, each comprising a primary winding and a secondary winding magnetically coupled to the secondary winding, the primary winding coupled across the output of a respective inverter; and a plurality of rectifiers, each comprising an input and an output, the input of each rectifier coupled across the secondary winding of a respective transformer, wherein the outputs of the plurality of rectifiers are serially coupled between the DC power output and return, and wherein the control circuitry is arranged to control the plurality of inverters to operate at different phases.

Abstract: Systems and methods for modulating the output of a difference frequency generator such as an OPO, OPA or OPG include a pump fiber laser having at least one internal, directly modulatible component, wherein the pump fiber laser produces a pump signal, and a difference frequency generator coupled to the pump fiber laser. The difference frequency generator is configured for accepting the pump signal of the pump fiber laser and producing an output signal, wherein parameters of the output signal are determined based on direct modulation of the internal, directly modulatible component of the pump fiber laser.

Abstract: A method for providing a laser beam and a laser arrangement that includes an elongated tube; an elongated discharge region within the elongated tube including a discharge medium to be excited to induce laser radiation; two DC discharge electrodes disposed at opposite ends of the elongated discharge region; two RF electrodes disposed at opposite elongated sides of the elongated discharge region; and/or a laser resonator having two opposite mirrors disposed at opposite ends of the elongated tube, the laser resonator is unstable in at least one lateral axis. The method includes applying a DC discharge between the DC electrodes, and applying a RF discharge transverse to the DC discharge between the RF electrodes. The DC and RF discharges may be provided by the DC and/or RF voltage suppliers provided according to embodiments of the present invention.

Abstract: A CO2 laser utilizing combination of direct current (DC), radio frequency (RF) discharges together with an unstable resonator is disclosed. The combined use of the combination of DC and RF discharges in the laser apparatus allows to provide high power output radiation within a relatively compact design of the apparatus. Consequently, the laser operating efficiency is increased, with a significant lowering of required excitation voltages, and a substantial reduction in excitation hardware. The laser apparatus of the present invention may have durable and reliable construction that is relatively easy and cheap in manufacturing.
