Abstract: A carbonation machine may include a carbonation head, a holder that is configured to hold a gas canister, the holder comprising a connector with a socket configured to enable linear insertion of a valve of the canister into the socket, the socket including a seal with at least one lateral opening to enable fluidic flow between one or more laterally oriented ports of the valve and a conduit of the holder while preventing leakage of gas from the fluidic flow, and a holding mechanism configured to hold a lateral projection from the canister after insertion of the valve into the socket such that the valve remains in the socket, and an activation mechanism configured to operate the valve to release the gas from the canister when inserted into the socket so as to enable the gas to flow via the conduit to the carbonation head.

Abstract: A communication system includes a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Core Network (CN); a 3GPP Home Node-B GateWay (HNB-GW); a Communication Apparatus (CA) coupled to the CN and embedded in a Communication Device (CD), wherein said CA transforms a 3GPP Home Node-B (HNB) into a mobile or location independent portable entity, wherein said CA interconnects to the CN by interconnecting to the HNB-GW over a 3GPP Iuh Interface, wherein said CA includes multi-layered protocol stacks for implementing 3GPP control plane functionality, user plane functionality and management functionality.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mass transport system and to a method of providing transportation. In the disclosed method and system, a route using mass transport resources is planned for a user in response to a request for transportation and the user is informed of the planned route. The system subsequently tracks the progress of the user along the planned route and optimizes the planned route in real-time. The invention enables the provision of transportation services using mass transport resources combining efficiency in the use of the mass transport resources and convenience for the user.

Abstract: A communications system (10) comprising a base station (12) for controlling a control channel signal and a plurality of traffic channels and a communications device (17) responsive to the control channel signal (16) and receptive to the plurality of traffic channels. The communications device comprises a tuneable filter (48), having an adjustable characteristic, which substantially filters all but a selected traffic channel of the plurality of traffic channels. The communications device further comprises a tuning circuit (24, 38, 40, 44, 46, 52) for adjusting the filter characteristic. The tuning circuit (24, 38, 40, 44, 46, 52) uses the control channel signal (16) as an accurate central frequency (F.sub.o) for a passband of the tuneable filter (48) and adjusts the filter characteristic to substantially a minimum insertion loss at the accurate central frequency, thereby substantially optimizing selectivity and sensitivity for the communications device (17).
