  • Patent number: 10406956
Abstract: A seat assembly is provided for supporting in an automotive vehicle. The seat assembly comprises a seat cushion and a seat back pivotally coupled to the seat cushion for movement between a reclined seating position and a fold flat position. A recliner assembly is coupled between the seat back and the seat cushion to provide pivotal movement of the seat back. A riser assembly is pivotally coupled to the seat cushion and pivotally latched to the floor to allow pivotal movement of the seat cushion between a horizontal seating position and a forwardly upright tumbled position. A release mechanism is coupled between the seat back and the riser assembly for automatically synchronizing actuation of the recliner assembly and the riser assembly to provide movement of the seat assembly to the tumbled position in response to the pivotal movement of the seat back to the fold flat position.

  • Patent number: 8496294
Abstract: A seat assembly for supporting an occupant above a floor includes a support mechanism operatively coupled between a seat back and a seat cushion. A rear end of the seat cushion is released from the support mechanism to pivot the seat cushion from a generally horizontal position to a generally vertical position in response to pivotal movement of the seat back from an upright seating position to a forwardly folded position. The support mechanism is released from the floor and a stand-up link pivotally coupled between the floor and the support mechanism moves the seat cushion from the generally horizontal position to the generally vertical position and simultaneously urges the seat back to pivot relative to the seat cushion, thereby maintaining the seat back in a generally vertical orientation defining a stand-up position.

  • Patent number: 6250703
Abstract: The subject invention is a vehicle seat assembly which is removably mounted to a floor of a vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat and an electrical device mounted to the seat. A riser is mounted to the seat and a latch mechanism is mounted to the riser for securing the seat to the vehicle floor. In the preferred embodiment, a first electrical connector is mounted to the latch mechanism for delivering power to the electrical component. A second electrical connector is mounted to the vehicle floor for delivering power to the first electrical connector wherein the first electrical connector automatically engages the second electrical connector when the latch mechanism secures the seat to the vehicle floor such that the first and second electrical connectors close a circuit to power the electrical device.

  • Patent number: 6220665
Abstract: A tumble seat for use in a vehicle including a seat cushion supported on a frame and a seat back connected to the seat cushion. First supports depend from the frame and have a first pivot connection for pivotally attaching the frame to the vehicle. The seat may be rotated about the first pivot connection between an operative position in which the seat cushion is generally horizontal so that an occupant may be seated on the seat and a nonoperative position in which the seat is rotated from the operative position about the first pivot connection. Second supports depend from the frame in spaced relation from the first supports and include ends for attaching to the vehicle when the seat is in the operative position. A latch mechanism is operatively attached to the frame for securing and unsecuring the ends to and from the vehicle when the seat is in the operative position. A lockout mechanism prevents the seat from rotating about the first pivot connection from the operative position to the nonoperative position.
