  • Publication number: 20090041752
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions for the treatment and diagnosis of immune disorders, especially T helper lymphocyte-related disorders, and also for the treatment of mast cell-related processes and disorders, ischemic disorders and injuries, including ischemic renal disorders and injuries. For example, genes which are differentially expressed within and among T helper (TH) cells and TH cell subpopulations, which include, but are not limited to TH0, TH1 and TH2 cell subpopulations are identified. Genes are also identified via the ability of their gene products to interact with gene products involved in the differentiation, maintenance and effector function of such TH cells and TH cell subpopulations. The genes identified can be used diagnostically or as targets for therapeutic intervention. In this regard, the present invention provides methods for the identification and therapeutic use of compounds as treatments of immune disorders, especially TH cell subpopulation-related disorders.

  • Publication number: 20070013511
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for communicating, processing and responding to information reporting the status of health care patients. In one aspect, the invention provides a procedure for allocating the attention of health care personnel to issues and events that are reported in association with health care patients located within a health care facility. In some embodiments, assignment of health care personnel to health care patients can be configured according to a set of directives. The directives can direct assignment of personnel based upon many criteria including, but not limited to, the identity and/or location of a health care patient, an issue or event associated with the status of the health care patient, the relative availability of other health care personnel to respond to the issue or event, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 7157990
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) filter includes a substrate, first and second dielectric layers formed on first and second portions of the substrate, a ground plane formed on a third portion of said substrate, a carbon nanotube array, and first and second electrodes. The third portion of the substrate includes, at least in part, the area between the first and second portions thereof. The carbon nanotube array is formed on a portion of said ground plane between the first and second dielectric layers. The first and second electrodes are formed on the first and second dielectric layers, such that an RF signal may be input to and output from the carbon nanotube array via the first and second signal guides. A third electrode is disposed over the carbon nanotube array and is used to voltage bias the array.

  • Patent number: 6768581
Abstract: A coated optical lens includes a lens element and a coating on the surface of the lens element. The coating exhibits a substantially balanced reflectance from the center to a radius proximate the edge of the lens element. The term “substantially balanced reflectance” means that where the thickness of the coating varies across the surface of the lens, the lightness, hue and chroma of the reflectance vary in a balanced manner such that variations in visual appearance are either imperceptible or generally acceptable to an observer. For example, variations in chromatic attributes, such as hue, from the center to the edge of the lens may be balanced by a reduction in lightness from the center to the edge. Preferably, the lens element includes a surface of high curvature upon which the balanced reflectance coating is deposited.
