  • Patent number: 4852813
Abstract: A garbage disposal unit is treated by a device which, in response to the activation of the garbage disposal unit, is propelled against a wall of an interior chamber of the unit. Due to its natural elasticity, the device ricochets off of the wall, thereby randomly striking and treating a plurality of areas on the wall. Ingredients, such as detergents, degreasers, scouring agents, disinfectants, foaming agents, sterilizers, etc., can be added to the device prior to or during operation in order to facilitate such treatment.

  • Patent number: 4779472
Abstract: A device for interconverting rectilinear and rotary motion is designed so as to reduce side thrust exerted on a frame by a slide as the slide reciprocates linearly relative to the frame and such rectilinear motion is converted into the rotary motion of a crank or vice versa. More particularly, an elongated opening, which receives a crankpin of the crank such that the crankpin moves back and forth along the elongated opening, is provided in a swing mounted for oscillatory movement relative to the slide. At least one arm is pivotally attached to the frame and to the swing so as to effect the oscillatory motion of the swing relative to the slide as the slide reciprocates relative to the frame. As the slide reciprocates relative to the frame, the orientation of the elongated opening relative to the slide is constantly varied.

  • Patent number: 4685342
Abstract: A device for converting linear motion to rotary motion or vice versa employs at least two bearing members mounted for rotation about a crankpin of a rotatable crank, each bearing member being in constant engagement with its own individual bearing surface. A shuttle, which is mounted for reciprocating linear movement, carries the bearing surfaces, which are located on opposite sides of the crankpin and are offset relative to each other. Because the bearing members are in constant engagement with their associated bearing surfaces, the linear motion of the shuttle is continuously converted into the rotary motion of the crank or vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4590812
Abstract: A reciprocating slide carrying one fixed and one moveable rotary bearing in an open portion of the slide frame. A rotary crank connected to the moveable rotary bearing causes the slide to reciprocate when the crank is rotated and vice versa.
